Lower difficulty of Enraged and Minibosses

  1. like i said they only spawn in unlit areas, so if you have a wildbase that isnt lit its your own fault that they spawned

  3. I like this a lot. This would be my vote, although I think minibosses are fine the way they are but enraged should be nerfed a bit.
  4. I rarely use armor, as I don't go out to fight, I go out to explore. Enraged skeles? Fine. Enraged creepers? Fine. Enraged zombies? They get me every time. Maybe lower the damage that enraged mobs can do just a tad. Please don't hate on me for this, as it is just a simple opinion and I am trying to save resources by saving armor. :)
  5. I voted not to lower their difficulty at all. The mini bosses and Enraged mobs are special. Changing them would take away their originality, and it would take a lot of the fun, and challenge away. It just wouldn't be as fun if anybody could kill them as they please because their difficulty was reduced.
  6. I don't think a change in the difficulty is necessary, but if you must, I say lower slightly lower the boss difficulty. The way I see it, if you run into a boss by accident, and you're not severely decked out, you're almost certain to die. But keeping the enraged mobs is a must, its one of the things that makes EMC unique and they're not really that hard when you get used to them.
  7. My problem with enraged mobs and mini-bosses is that I think it is a turn-off to new players who just joined EMC. Yeah. I get that new players now get iron armor and sword. But one fight with a enraged creeper will probably shred their armor and they have no chance against Momentus.

    EMC makes all this effort to recruit new players and they die instantly in the wild and never play again. Yes, I understand players who know what they are doing will thrive in the wild and know how to avoid mobs and lit everything up etc. But IMO many players don't. They were attracted to EMC because it was a "non-PVP" server and probably didn't expect enraged mobs and mini-bosses killing them the first time they went out of town.

    To make it fun for these newbies, maybe let them go to the Utopia wasteland for free for about a month. They can gather resources and stock up on diamonds, god armor, etc. so they can thrive.

  8. I agree, but I think instead new players should just be immune to Enraged Mobs/Bosses for their first month. Having them get to go to utopia for a whole month just isn't that fair in my opinion.
  9. Inferno mobs are easy. I can only play on the weekends too.

I am all for lowering their difficulty.. 5 people dying 30-40 times each just to kill a glitched Momentus seems a bit too much, beside recently needing a extermination crew to fumigate underneath my town recently.. :confused: ..People are only truly voting that it would upset them because of the mentality that has been condemning gaming for quite some time. Minecraft is a sandbox game to help some people relax, not some competition to find out who is better than other people. People have been getting too competitive in gaming, that it has ruined many games.. Look at the Mob Arena events, people competing to be the last one standing, so that they could then brag that they won the mob arena, and acting condescending towards people who showed up in anything less then perfectly teched diamond gear.. Or racing to get stuff before everyone else. Nether travel is loads too dangerous to use as viable transportation as the vanilla mobs were always easy to avoid but the Hounds never stop and if one finds you every hound for miles comes soon after, and before people try to cut holes in my logic, I have been a cross-server merchant and rather than having diamond armor on every server, and prior to the survival update, I was always able to merchant runs in the frontier/nether with leather armor and I built/repaired my tools as needed.. I usually only ever got hurt by an errant ghast fireball or creeper hug. With the enraged mobs and the minibosses, I have lost full cargoloads, and tons of gear that I have even stopped doing merchant runs because the costs greatly outweigh the profits now a days, unfortunately.. :oops:
  11. No point to spend 20$ a month then... How about they just mine? Mini boss can't spawn under ground...so I don't see a point in my not giveing it a try, but seething just hit me... Why not show how much life momentus/marlix have left above there name, makes it more fun to know if you weak armor can take it, and if to go around if they are toooooo strong

  12. what i think some of you are ignoring about the difficulty is that emc runs a modified normal mode. vanilla normal mode is considerably harder then our own (if we excluded enraged). enraged bridge that gap but are still avoidable unlike the exponential increase in difficulty of vanilla normal mode. also take into account that this is still a survival server and is advertised as that.


    i think there is a mod for that? if it isnt allowed submit it to chickeneer. but i would love for this to be implemented

  13. I killed 37 momentus and 19 marlix don't see why there hard, just marlix pisses me off when it flys too high for my sword to hit it
  14. I think the main concern is people who find one by accident. I'm guessing you hunt bosses for fun, but if someone walks across a boss involuntarily they should at least stand a chance at winning when not properly prepared.

  15. The fact that EMC is less difficult than vanilla is not the point. As Aikar stated in the original post, some people are afraid to go out of town. Meaning they are not enjoying what EMC has to offer in the wild/wastelands. Meaning they probably will stop playing EMC because the town gets boring after a while. The question is what to do about these people who are afraid of the wild?
  16. Okay, I figured Marlix and Momentus were bosses, not minibosses. Anyway, I think they should be a little weaker and HERE'S WHY:

    Everytime I accidentally get near a momentus, I get drawn in and die when I'm not even attacking it. This only happened once though. I'd like to be able to escape them when I accidentally bump into them.
  17. A momentus is 20ish blocks tall you can see that from a godawful distance away, pretty easy to avoid and if you withing 20-25 block of it, it will draw you in. Marlix don't even chase the player - pretty easy to escape.
  18. Honestly, what would be better and i think some people might agree, is increase the spawn rate than i think it would be more acceptable to lower there difficulty, when Me and my friend go out hunting we find it much to easy, i do understand how some would disagree and find them to difficult.

    Maybe they could be a way of newcomers have a "trial" of some sorts, so that mini bosses and enraged mobs will essential ignore them being there, so it would be more like normal mine-craft than after lets say, a ten day period the enraged mobs will treat them like any other player.

    Honestly I like how everything is now. In my eyes, nothing should be changed. But can someone explain Dystopia for me?
