Economy Revival--Sell Your Debris Here @950r/each!

  1. When I came back to EMC in January 2021, I had a few thousand rupees and some meager items in my vault. After looking for ways to become richer, I finally found one--netherite! At the time, it was very easy to sell netherite for 4k/ ingot. Demand was strong, and after a few months of methodically blasting away I had collected over 6 million rupees.

But as with nearly every item in the EMC economy, its value has since tanked. A lack of demand has led to plummeting prices and shrinking opportunities for new players to establish themselves.

However, thanks to the generosity of JesterTheCleric, you can now relive the glory days of being a netherite miner!

Jester has decided to give away her rupees in support of the EMC economy, and thus we present the Ancient Debris Sell Zone!

Located at 18606 on smp9 (+debris), you can sell Ancient Debris here for 950r apiece!

Are you a new player without multiple reses yet? Forum PM JesterTheCleric to trade Debris you mine for a Supporter Voucher! Exchange rates:

    Diamond Voucher (5): 180 Ancient Debris/each
    Gold Voucher (4): 90 Ancient Debris/each
    Iron Voucher (26): 45 Ancient Debris/each

We hope that this will provide a bit of a boost to the current EMC economy by providing an avenue to gain some wealth. The sell sign is linked to over a DC of space, so have fun :)

I will also attach my own guide to mining netherite here--with this, I was able to get 2.5-3.5 stacks of debris (150k-212k) per day. This method does require TNT, but if you want to go a cheaper route you can use beds. Beds will be just as effective as TNT, but will take slightly longer.

    The guide:

    Materials:
--1 DC of Fire Resistance Potions
--1 DC of Swiftness II Potions
--Enchanted Gold helmet with Fire Resistance (to avoid Piglins)
    --18 stacks+ of TNT
--> (alternatively, 10+ shulker boxes of beds)
    --Several Mending/Unb3 Flint and Steel
    --Soul Speed boots
    --Several pickaxes, extra food, etc.

    Method:

The main goal of netherite mining is to cover the largest number of chunks possible. The number of Ancient Debris veins that spawn is capped per 16x16 chunk, and thus this method will focus on Speed.

First, you have to find a good nether waste location. My advice would be to try smp4, 6, or 9, as these are less frequented smp's and should have intact nethers. Do "/nwaste c" so that you will spawn at the center nether waste outpost.

From here, fly anywhere from 1k-3kblocks to the north or south. You want to get away from the center outpost which usually will be already mined. Once you get to a suitable spot, dig down so that you are standing on y level 14. You can check your Y level with F3.

Here's an important part: Do F3+G, which will display the chunk borders. With this, you will be able to see each 16x16 chunk around you. Try to find a Dark Blue line which indicates the center of a grid:

Once you find this line, start tunneling to the East or West (make sure to use compass directions, or the live map) along this line.

Since you are at the center of the wastelands, you can go up to 8k blocks in either direction. So, mine away! Just run in a straight line. Along the way, you will run into lava pools, so make sure to have fire resistance potions on hand. When you encounter a lava pool, build a tunnel around yourself to continue the pathway and keep going. If you have a decent bit of TNT, go alllll the way to the edge of the wastelands (8k out) and stop there. Dig out a little room for yourself, as you will need this later for shelter.

[If you are using beds, stop every 5 blocks or so to turn around and place a bed behind. Keep going, leaving a tunnel of beds behind you]

Once you get to the end of the tunnel, you will now have to walk backwards (facing forward) and place TNT every 4-5 blocks. This is a bit tedious, so you could use an autoclicker and set it to 800 ms right click (this is allowed on EMC).

[If you are using beds, this is the time when you detonate them! Blast your way back through the trail of beds you just laid and collect debris as you go along.]

Now, you have the tunnel dug out and lined with TNT. Here comes the fun part! Hold your Unb3/Mending Flint and Steel, drink some Speed 2 potions, and run through the tunnel lighting the TNT! When the TNT is lit, you can run through it as if it's air. Thus, you can zoom through the tunnel lighting the blocks. This is where the Speed comes to play. If you have a Rabbit's Pocket Watch, Bunny Boots, or Turkey Trotters (with Mending and Soul Speed), you can wear them here to go even faster. Once you reach the end of the tunnel, duck into your safety room to avoid the last blast.

And now, easy pickings! Work your way back through the 8k blocks of devastation and pick up all the juicy Ancient Debris that is now exposed. Make sure to set Diff to 1 to avoid the Endermen and such, but Hoglins will still attack you. You will need Fire Resistance potions too, as there will be lakes of lava cascading down in some sections.

With this method, I was able to get 2.5-3.5 stacks of Debris per 8k-long tunnel. It took about 4 hours each time. This method is methodical and will be much faster than simply mining around in the Nether without a set direction.

Happy mining--go get some money :)

  2. Hope you all have a fun time mining! I've been here for nearly 9 years but don't really play on this server anymore, mostly due to how busy I am with schoolwork. I hope this can help y'all out!
  3. Wonderful to have more economy boosting ideas around. I will match this with my own meager chest space and rupees.

Remember decorators, debris makes wonderful palm tree trunks!!!

And the ends do resemble bakery sticky buns 😄
  4. cool idea!
time to back mining netherite as well

  5. Just as a little thing, I wanted to mention the message I've added to my res via signs:

Do Not Resell Purchased Debris Here At This Shop Please!
This shop is meant to reward players for their hard work, not promote buying from others at a lower price to sell here for a profit.
If I find that you are reselling here, I will remove your access from this res, to give others the chance to earn rupees for their hard work.
    Please Be Kind.

In addition to this message, I just wanted to say that it's been super fun being able to help out players, I already have over 9 stacks of debris and it's only been a couple of days. Please just be kind though and don't resell purchased debris. Doing that prevents others from getting the same reward, and it's disheartening to learn about. If we all do hard work, we can all get the same reward, and there's more than enough rupees to go around!
  6. I thought netherite was still 4k per ingot 😂😂

  7. mm can i also sell netrite ingods ?? i have 2 stacks of ingods thats like 500k
  8. They're only allowing debris in an attempt to have people not buy out a shops stock and resell for profit.
  9. umm any 1 wana trade ingods for debries i just crafted like 4 stacks of debries in tho ingods last week
  10. We're also only buying debris in an attempt to not have malls or shops sell for a profit. The price per ingot has been driven way down because so many people sold them to shops, who now have stockpiles and stockpiles of ingots. Since the original idea was to buy ingots at 4k, those malls and shops would have swamped me in order to sell for a profit. I'm buying debris since you can't break down an ingot and most people have already crafted up ingots to sell, meaning that people must go mining in order to sell here (since if I find out that someone has been buying debris from people at a lower price and then reselling at my shop, I will remove access to my res for that person).
  11. Since its been nearly 2 weeks since my last message, I want to post again to say that this is still open and operational! I have not been online much because Finals (TM) are ruining me right now (soon,,,,,soon I shall be free,,,,,,,,,,,free from my suffering,,,,,,) but I still have plenty of rupees ready to support the economy!
