[Suggestion] Keeping track with Wasteland wipes

  1. I think that it depends on what you look for.
As I said, ocean monuments are gone, I scoured all the oceans in the wastelands and I could not find a single sponge

  2. Dang, if the wasteland resets were on this lax schedule back in 2015, people would be very upset.
  3. Do you think you were the first one in the monuments? I was the first to raid two on smp3 and didn't find any sponge. I wonder if anyone found sponge this time.
  4. no, I was definitely not the first, all monuments I found had no elder guardians, so they were already looted
  5. I think it should be every 3 months and be reset with updates. So if it has been 3 months and there's an update a month away, you reset now and then reset again when that update comes. Then you reset again 3 months later.

Why would this be a good idea? If we hold off on resetting it because an update is on its way, we will be waiting for around a year. Upgrading the server to a new version is, I assume, a big task and does not bode well with relying on an ETA. Just have it reset every 3 months from the last reset, and reset automatically with each major update.
  6. One thing this thread has made apparent is the number of players interest in shulkers and elytra. There might be a line of players ready to scour the End as soon as it resets. Then everyone will want it reset sooner so they all can get a chance to get the loot.

I bite my lip sometimes to keep from revealing what I look for. 🙂

  7. shulkers are useful, so it is no surprise.
elytra, is more a desire of finding it myself, rather than relying on someone else, so personally I am looking for one (1), not a DC of them.
I understand that some players want to have them in stock in the shop, but not everyone enjoys buying these items from a shop, and I'd rather wait for a reset
same for sponges (and other non-renewable extremely-low-count items)

  8. I think the automatic every 3 months would benefit everyone.

Especially new players who can't venture too far out to start with.
  9. Another reason to keep to a schedule of resetting the wastes every 3 months that isn't being discussed is that waste resets are exciting and have a novelty to them. Sure, they might not need to be reset every 3 months, but having a brand new set of worlds to explore four times a year brings back some of the spirit that the game was meant to have. Regular waste resets encourage players to venture out into the unknown looking for resources or treasure instead of just staying in town. Waste resets ultimately help make the game fun and exciting with no major consequences, and if that isn't a good enough reason to reinstate this tri-monthly schedule, I don't know what is.
  10. Indeed, thank you for bringing it up!
