Snapshots for 1.16

  1. Arent they passive when your wearing gold armour?
  2. Zoglins are Hostile so they won't be eggable.
  3. yea they like you when your wearing gold armour.
  4. well.... I was playing with the new world settings and uuhh...
(This one is set to "caves" where the entire world is basically just an overworld nether. It's a cool idea, but it actually sucks because you can't see anything when you spawn)
I think the world generation behavior is interesting to say the least...

The caves only go up to 128 blocks high, just like in the nether. It's weird but it provides a unique challenge if you want one.

I think this is better than the zombie flinger

  5. And then, naturally, I spawned more until it was overcrowded and brought out the tnt :D
I need to go to bed

  6. Got worried for a moment when I saw this video. Most of the farms are just 1.16 mechanics. Not exploits :)
(by exploit here - I just mean a deviation from what was intended)

Now Piglin Bartering. Ooof. Mojang what are you doing?
It's too early in the update cycle for me to make any official statement on what the staff team think about that mechanic. Definitely not taking away the mechanic. My biggest skepticism is just them bartering when just a dispenser drops the gold as shown in the video. Skeptical but more makes me want to research it more.

  7. Renewable quartz already sort of exists through villagers. Albeit you can only get quartz blocks and quartz pillars, and it takes a bit of time to wait for restocking, but it's renewable nonetheless.

  8. This is really useful for making comparators and observers, both of which require flakes.

  9. It seems like most recent posts have been off-topic, and that's to be expected, because the last snapshot for 1.16 was released weeks ago. ;) Discussion about EMC's update to 1.16 could be interesting, but should not be had here, as this is the General Minecraft Discussion subforum, intended for discussion unrelated to EMC. :)
  10. This is related to emc, it is General Minecraft discussion not General Emc Minecraft discussion. I think this is the perfect subforum to talk about changes to minecraft and all

  11. Well there is one exploit, the obsidian, but since the area under any end portal on emc is protected that can’t be done
  12. Please don't take away the ability to trade via dispensers. It's not like you can easily gather a DC of gold ingots, it still takes quite a while. A lot of these materials would be great to have renewable. It's a vanilla feature, I don't see why we shouldn't have it.

Edit: A setup like this is capped at 6 piglins anyway, because you can't have more than 6 named monsters per area on EMC. Which still takes about 36 stacks of gold ingots per hour to operate.

Edit 2: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-80612?jql=text ~ "Piglin droppers" Someone reported piglins not picking up gold from droppers are as a bug, and it was fixed. This is clearly intentional by Mojang.
  13. The piglin gold-dispenser farms are kind of ridiculous. (1), not everything should be farmable... And (2), piglins are inherently supposed to be some kind of greedy little gold grubbers, so if they found free gold given by a dispenser, logically they would just keep it and not bother trading an item for it.

I like the little bartering system, but when it comes to allowing it to be automated with dispensers, I have to agree with chicken... Mojang, what are you doing?
  14. Yeah. Didn't mean to imply that we have any plans to change the mechanic. Just an interesting design choice on the part of Mojang...

If I was Mojang, I probably would have kept the dispenser option for bartering. But I would have pursued an option that is similar to villagers max trades. Villagers reset their trades by working. But I would have Piglins barter X times. Then wait till a full MC day passes to reset their number of possible bartering. That would be really easy to implement, and makes sense, in that these Piglins are pulling from a seemingly endless supply in the item pool they give back....
  15. I wonder if the Enraged Piglins won't be egged like the Enraged Villager Zombies long ago. I know they won't but one can dream.
  16. Yeah Hash I agree with you that not everything should be farmable. Automating everything just takes away from the fun and then eventually you'll have nothing left to do
but when there is a literal infinite super sandbox like minecraft, dedicated players will always find a way to farm it efficiently.
  17. I don't want to derail this thread too much, but, for some of us, farming everything is the fun. I hate mining for things by hand, making machines is far more satisfying. And as you said yourself, it's a sandbox game, I don't see the purpose of putting limiters on players, with the exception being things like duplication. If you want to mine for things by hand, if you think that's interesting, go for it. But I'm gonna stay over building stuff with materials that my factories make for me :)

    EDIT
Because they understand that for a lot of us automation is what we do in minecraft, it is the game for us.

That was only possible because you could cure zombie villagers and eggify them. There's no curing process for piglins, piglins ARE the unzombified version of pigmen and they still want to kill you :p

I'm actually very interested to hear how you would implement this. Piglins are barbarians, they're not going to 'work' like your normal villager, it's out of line with them. Have you got any ideas for a similar mechanic that makes sense?
  18. What? Exactly, this is General Minecraft Discussion and not General EMC Minecraft Discussion. The latter subforum doesn't exist, so I suppose this discussion should be had in Community Discussion if a member were to start it (alternatively, staff could open a discussion thread in Empire Updates).
  19. Meh. The easy solution is that it would just be time based. I don't currently have the creative juices to come up with lore behind something like that.
At least putting it time based could be reasonably attributed to piglins needing time to stow away the gold they have received. And gather new materials to barter back.

Although, even bartering is not a good name for how the mechanic works... It is more like....
"I the piglin picked up some gold from a random source, and am unilaterally deciding what to throw back".
There is no bartering. You don't have an option to cancel the barter if you don't like what the piglin offers back. It is just an infinite conversion machine. With an infinitely large pocket for gold coming in. And infinitely large source for bartered items going out. No limits, other than a weak rate limit of 6 seconds.

You need to relax. It is okay, I promise. Besides... Careful about what you say, wouldn't want it to nip you back...
Regardless of what subforum this thread is in. It is still on the EmpireMinecraft forums website. So everything is going to have that perspective skew to it. For many people here, the most exciting things about a new MC update is how it impacts EMC.
