  1. Right, I don't have a complete picture of the games you liked -- that isn't Minecraft. AHIT is not the most graphically impressive game when compared to many AAA titles, but I don't think most MC players care about that anyway.

I made the OP to express my love towards AHIT and share it with trustworthy communities. I'd be pleased to hear EMC players who love this game, but I can't force anyone to like it.

  2. I am indeed not bothered much by the graphics, usually. :p Although it can be nice if a game looks gorgeous (like Yoshi's Woolly World!), I can miss it. A good soundtrack, though... that has a much bigger impact, for me!
In case you'd like to know, this is the list of cheaper (still expensive mostly, but not €60 like the Mario and Zelda etc are) Switch games I ended up sending my mother. :)

    • Minecraft
    • Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King
    • Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
    • Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
    • Sonic Mania Plus
    • Rayman Legends Definitive Edition
    • Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair

  3. Did you play any of those games on that list? If so, combined with your desire for amazing video game OSTs, I think you're gonna love "A Hat in Time" once you get it!

Something I didn't mention in the OP: Grant Kirkhope (the composer of the original Banjo-Kazookie) helped with some of this game's music. He specifically made the base theme for Hat Kid's spaceship!

  5. Ah thanks, I was wondering if 'Boop' was a reference. :)
  6. It's my new primary word to re-boop a thread! :)
'Boop' is also one of the default spoken emotes you can use during gameplay!

The main purpose of emotes is to communicate with players in an Online Party, but they also work in singleplayer and co-op.
(The Nyakuza Metro DLC is required to use emotes and join online parties. I think this is already included when you buy the Switch version of AHIT).

  7. As time approaches one month since I published this video game review/reflection, I want to announce that I plan on posting more of these detailed writings about other games I've played.

A Hat in Time is the gaming experience I needed to let go of something I believe exceeds the negative impact Minecraft 1.9's controversial combat changes made. I was seriously hurt emotionally through the second half of 2019. I'm glad to have discovered a game I now love! :)

There are a few extra points I have to say about Hat Kid's game, without going too deep into spoiler territory.
    =====================================================
    • A Hat in Time supports two-player local co-op. Player Two controls Bow Kid. If split-screen is turned off, he will automatically teleport to Hat Kid if she gets too far away.
    • There is a horror mission which takes place inside an old manor.
    • You don't need to collect all the Time Pieces to do The Finale.
    • On PC, if you want to join an Online Party with lots of kids (players), "peck" is almost always populated.
    • AHIT for Switch is rated T, whereas the PC version is E-10. This may be due to the fact the Switch version comes with Seal the Deal already installed. It adds a bonus chapter which contains a minor alcohol reference and a character who holds a cigar in his mouth.

Lastly, in regards to the future of A Hat in Time, Jonas Kaerlev (the creator) has shown interest in developing a sequel someday. But first, he wants to take a break from 3D Platformers (which I totally understand). Gears for Breakfast is now working on their next original title which is a completely different game.

There is a lot of potential a sequel to A Hat in Time could build off of. The original game was made in Unreal Engine 3. UE4 exists now, and Epic Games no longer supports the previous generation. I barely know anything about the differences between UE3 and UE4. Game development in UE4 is suppose to be more efficient than UE3, but I have no idea how. All I know for sure is that changing game engines is a big deal.

I could talk nonstop about why a sequel would be so beneficial to the universe Kaerlev and Gears for Breakfast created. But I shouldn't, at least not here. Maybe we send them nice thoughtful letters or emails about what we loved about the original game and what we'd like to see in a sequel. Yeah?
I really want AHIT 2 to happen... one year... one day. If you enjoyed the game we have now, please make your voice heard (if you haven't already)!!

Alright, that's it. Thanks for coming!
    Goodbye. o/

I often see comments of others wanting A Hat in Time and other noteworthy indie games to be represented in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Of course, I too want one of my favorite video games to be featured in Nintendo's crossover fighting game!

  8. I've played on "peck" many times before, I've never been disappointed silliness wise XD
