[Update] Misc bug fixes and dev update

  1. Cheaty as far as server play. Gotta remember, they make there game mostly for single player. I even used that method in my single player game. Hard to ruin an economy of one :p But on a server it's not a good thing to have at all. Emeralds are already super easy to come by as is.

  2. Unless they change the villagers to maintain there trade when egged, you are correct. That option will only be in the frontier or waste. Don't know if you will be able to be the Hero of the village ether.

    But if it can be done in the wild that argument don't hold water.

  3. if questions are still open.... is there going to be a cost for creating a Empire? or any type of requirement?
  4. The details are still being sorted out, but tokens will have a place here.
  5. Creating Empires, costs are minimal if any at all. The tokens are more for the feature expansion aspects.

    In terms of Dev update. I intended to type up something for this. My IRL life has been super busy the last couple days which made that not happen.

    In short. I do not have anything crazy to announce. But I believe myself to be making solid progress on several different things (as listed below)
    1. We will be updating to 1.15.1+ directly. My test server is running this version fine. 1.15 had little new features besides bees. Mostly client improvements and bug fixes. It was not much work to upgrade from 1.14 to 1.15.
    2. Staff testing has found many bugs. And I have fixed the majority of bugs they have found. A future update post will include any specific changes I made in this section - short on time this evening.
    3. I am head deep in the conversion issues, which has been the primary issue since day 1.
      In other words, I have started resolving the issues, but I cannot see how long it will take me to have this part done. It is the thing I am actively working on, so the next update post should contain: me mentioning that the conversion issues are resolved and that we are moving into the last full round of testing for bugs. I do not know when that next post will be. Depends on how much the code issues wish to cooperate. And also how my RL shapes up the next couple weeks.

    will the details like commands and requirements be released before we update? it would be helpful so that we can prepare :)
  9. We generally have not released specific info like this in previous updates ahead of time. We will discuss and decide with this instance, but we have long before stated to gather tokens in preparation as they will be the primary limiting factor you may run into.

  11. I know it's extra work to let us know where you are at with the update but it does help us feel as though it is ongoing and importantly, worth staying around. Thanks heaps for your dedication chickeneer!

  12. Firstly I just want to say thank you for all you do for the Empire it does not go unnoticed. Couple of questions. When will be seeing this update!?!?, I think its really important for us to have a general time frame because It always seems as though the update is in "testing phase". Secondly how far back will the 1.15 update set back the update if at all?
  13. Chickeneer has made it pretty clear throughout this thread that he can't give a timefame. It sux but that is the nature of the beast.

    Crazy is giving us an ETA.

    And from his point number 1 that you quoted it appears to be minimal impact and fixes, maybe even some of the fixes to performance that the update needs.

    So really, please just be patient. As soon as he thinks he has a date, he will give us that date.

    1 will any data packs be on emc?

    2 is it possible to make some of the components of emc into data packs?

  16. 1.15 did not impact the update release. At all. There were no 'new' things to handle. Was basically able to handle 1.14-> 1.15 in a day.
    As for a time frame. I would give an answer if I had one. We will definitely make an announcement when we are ready. It is worth noting that there are multiple testing phases. The first testing phase is just general find the stuff that is super broken and obvious. The last phase of testing (which we are not there yet), is where we do the looking for the surprise broken things. That last phase is relatively short - if nothing is found wrong. But it repeats until we stop finding things.

    There are no aspects of data packs that we are implementing at the time of release. It is worth noting that data packs are not very relevent to modded minecraft servers. As most of data pack functionality is already available to us.
