[Update] Misc bug fixes and dev update

Discussion in 'Empire Updates' started by chickeneer, Jul 12, 2019.

  1. Chunk conversion - just means that all of your old blocks/items will load into 1.14.

Oh, I don't know. Haven't figured out that detail yet.

  2. Is infinite villager-emerald trading going to be "fixed" for emc? Mojang is removing it for 1.15, so I don't think it was particularly intended to work like that even for 1.14.

  4. We shall see. I'll put it on my last to evaluate

  5. I feel like it’d be better to leave this feature alone, or even see if it’s possible to keep villager trading the way it currently is. It will become such a hassle in 1.14 it will barely be worth it.
  6. Keeping 1.12 mechanics is not an option for consideration.
  7. How will the release of 1.15 affect the 1.14 update?

  8. As chicken has mentioned, we expect to be 1.14 before a stable release of 1.15 is released. A first release is not a stable release. We will continue to go with our plans currently.

  9. Only question I have is how we send you a Six-pack for motivation and thanks for all your hard work?!
  10. I know this is kinda a gray area sorry but i want to ask chickeneer in your opinion from what (if any) have seen in 1.15 is the game more stable for what emc is?
  11. I am not taking donations of any kind. Your kind words are enough.

I gave not looked into 1.15 at all. But I heard that Mojang did not have much for server side improvements. At this point, it would only be asking for upstream bugs from Mojang and Spigot.
  12. Are sea turtles going to be eggable? Will turtle eggs be a protected block if placed by player?

Are dolphins going to be eggable? Will anything change with using dolphins being egged and still using them to find treasure or will that only be the 'wild' ones?

Are fish going to be in a bucket only or are fish going to be eggable? Will they remain cod/salmon/tropical if they are egged?

Are pandas going to be eggable? Will they keep their attributes/color?
  13. Good questions.
    • Turtles: Eggable. I don't see why the placed eggs would not be protectable.
    • Dolphins: Eggable. Not intentionally changing any of their treasure seeking abilities. Also not guaranteeing that they work reliably in our old and overpopulated worlds.
    • Fish: Not eggable. Only with buckets.
    • Pandas: Yes to being eggable. I think I intend for them to keep at least some of their attributes/color. I am not sure that I have coded that though. Somehow missed pandas.

  14. Just out of curiousity is that because it’s not feasible or it doesn’t jive with the way you think the game should be? Not intending this to sound disrespectful at all.

  15. I said it in the Fixing the Economy thread, resetting all villagers will be a great thing for the economy. And yes, that includes my 300 villagers including some very good pre-1.8's. The way villagers work in 1.14 is completely different so there's really no point even discussing it. The only thing would be to fix the infinite emerald bug that was never meant to be.
  16. Feasibility

  17. As to the turtle eggs, I should have specified that if the turtle eggs would be an auto-protected block, including Waste placement.

Pandas, Fox and Sheep - in all their colors! O My !!

  18. Just making sure, but will foxes be eggable? I have a need for all the floofies I come across. uwu

  19. Eh. Maybe that will happen. I don't see it making a big difference either way. Will take a look at what we already are default protecting - to inform whether they would be appropriate.

Yes they will. And will keep their red/white property.
  20. Fantastic, thanks! :D
