EMC Goes RLCraft

  1. Just throwing this out there. RLCraft is popular and fun. Instead of trying to update to 1.13 make the server a RLCraft server. Lots of challenge. Lots of cool stuff. Maybe easier than updating. Any thoughts?

  2. Sounds interesting, you should ping Kryssy and Chickeneer and see what they have to say about the subject. I'm quite curious what others have to think as well. :)
  3. Maybe im being dumb but what is rlcraft?
  4. Super Hard modpack. Also, why make the server modded? not everyone can run it, and alot of stuff would have to be destroyed.

  5. a mod that adds
    • a thirst bar
    • temperature
    • removes the ability to heal off food
    • mob spawners with lifespans
    • levelling up rpg style
    • new mobs like dragons and giant scorpions
    • bloodmoons - mob spawns increased by 4x, you can't sleep, 1% chance of happening a night

  6. -1000. Not at all what we're about here.
  7. -1 I'm not interested in playing RLCraft.
  8. Maybe make a rlcraft smp cuz emc does need something to get ppl playing

  9. Hey that over there looks cool, lemme just look at it... Death.
Huh, what's that in the sky? Death.
Wow, that's a great looking mob! Death.
I'm just gonna run over here and... Death.
I can tame these, right? Death.

RLCraft - We're gonna need a bigger bed.

  10. I think no parts of EMC should require modded clients. For most people it's too much hassle to set up anyway.

  11. EMC has always been a "french" vanilla minecraft. You can use player settings to turn off most of the extras like enraged and bosses and other changes such as the addition of extra overworlds (waste and town) are legitimate changes for a multiplayer server, something Mojang didn't take into account.

RLCraft or any of the other multitude of modpacks completely change how minecraft is played and how you would be able to play on EMC.

A lot of players come to EMC for a unique experience that mixes all these elements but also they come expecting a vanilla-ish experience. And that includes being on the latest version. The back-end changes to minecraft have been dramatic but once we get to 1.14 future updates should lag behind far less.

I took nearly a year off as I was burnt out by minecraft and wanted the new stuff in 1.13 and now 1.14. Give the devs a chance to get it done and then we can enjoy all those wonderful changes to the oceans, new stairs, slabs and walls, etc. You still won't be able to that with RLCraft or any other modpack that the author has abandoned or is taking just as long to update. Notice that RLCraft is itself only on 1.12.2, same as EMC. Is he even attempting to update to 1.13?
  12. Also, please change the clickbait title to something that does not suggest EMC has changed. "Should EMC use RLCraft?" or the like would be better.
  13. No need to do this for EMC is fine without this and it will probably be hard to implement for Aikar and Chickeneer to do -9001
  14. Ya, the title should probably have a question mark or something. Sorry. I'm sure difficulty could be lowered. It would bring in a lot of new items and crafting. Kinda, inject some new energy. I'm just bouncing stuff and only thought of it because it runs at 1.12 and is quite popular right now.
