  1. The Caliphate is selling oil, is the UBR up to buying some?
  2. The Palace of the Soviets is open.
The event went well, all things considered. I mean, there were 2 attempts at terrorism. But SEU saw this coming from a mile away and beefed security to truly ridiculous levels.
The Palace is now being used by the SEU PC to house them; it is their permanent residency, at the Heart of Beijing.
SEU can now put the Palace on propaganda posters everywhere; it is the symbol of the Socialist Eurasian Union and the Soviet Union as a whole. The Palace is honestly majestic and very tall, surpassing the previous tallest (Chrysler tower) by nearly 200 meters. The gigantic spire just makes it taller by another 62 meters. SEU claims the Palace has its own weather (The building went over budget and had to be rescued by Public donations because of the need to install giant air conditioning systems) and is the tallest building on Earth; this is also correct.
SEU has planned and worked on this for a very long time, and no one is going to ruin it for SEU. There is a Nuclear generator and a bunker complex underneath. The Palace has its own power grid separate from the rest of the City. The Nuclear generator is a LWR and covered in meters of Steel and Concrete so that if it explodes (impossible, but it could happen), it will be contained. There is spare fission material to last the bunker several weeks, and most importantly on site-staff and a very complex anti-sabotage system that is hardwired into the reactor that could withstand a Tsunami. The bunker complex doubles as a Nuclear Waste storage site, albeit temporary.
  3. yes, but only to make roads and to use in combustion engine cars (which we're trying to get rid of!)
  4. SEU is planning the Three Gorges Dam; it will be the largest dam on Earth.
According to calculations in SEU about the sheer size of the dam, it will lengthen the day by 60 nanoseconds and move the poles by 2 centimeters.
Not every nation can say they measurably lengthened the day and moved the Poles.
The Three Gorges Dam will be paid for by the State-Owned Enterprise called "SEU Energy". As SEU has way too much money and not enough places to spend it, SEU has decided that giving the people electricity and phasing out Coal power plants is good.
SEU is also studying Thorium MSRs. They show much promise, both in making weapons and making energy. Thorium LWRs is unable to make any sort of Plutonium, so SEU is uninterested. SEU is researching ways to mine Uranium for conversion into Plutonium, as well as reserves of Thorium. SEU notes that their mild rival, India has plenty of Thorium. SEU decides that they could use this research to have better relations, because SEU could share this and India would soon be very, very plentiful in Nuclear Fuel. SEU will never share this with the Caliphate, or SNE for that matter. But this is ultimately irrelevant.
  5. (ooc very bad joke: in our timeline, many countries have moved the Poles; the Russian Empire, Nazi Germany, etc. And now the UBR has the majority of the Poles!)
ic: The UBR is very happy that the SEU is moving towards renewable energy, and especially the Ministry of the Environment. We also recommend that other USSR member countries do the same.

  6. SEU has many prizes:
    1. Order of Marx: Awarded in unanimity with the Soviet Union that is determined to be of great aid to the Socialist Ideology. Only 6 awarded in history, comes with benefits such as state pension and many other benefits such as being buried in a state cemetery; made of Titanium-Platinum alloy.
    2. Hero of the Socialist Eurasian Union: Awarded by the People's Congress deciding that this person has done a service to the SEU. Only 33 awarded in history. Made of Solid Gold and a state pension as well as rights to be buried in a state cemetery are given.
    3. Order of Sun Yat-Sen: As the first among equals, Sun Yat-Sen has a prize all to himself. His prize is awarded to many individuals and comes with mild benefits.
Hero of the SEU has been awarded to Iosif Stalin, Georgy Zhukov, Qiang Wang, and Mao Zedong, among others.
The Order of Marx has been awarded to Sun Yat-Sen, Vladimir Lenin, The Founder, Allen Brown (the Australian Socialist), Höpöttä Kahvi ,and Fredrich Engels. Fredrich Engels is not buried in the SEU State cemetery, Sun Yat-Sen and Vladimir Lenin are buried there, The Founder, Allen Brown and Höpöttä Kahvi are still alive and breathing. I mean, putting those guys in a cemetery would be very... murdery.

  7. SEU has made an agreement to DRC to build and sell them 3 Aircraft Carriers, mostly 20,000 ton designs that were actually designed by the DRC themselves and assisted by SEU, because when a nation designs an Aircraft Carrier with 0 previous experience, it sucks. They were initially going to go for a Admiral Kuznetsov-Class Carrier, but SEU persuaded them that purchasing such a massive ship would set off everyone's alarm bells, be impractical, and basically give DRC no actual benefit whatsoever. SEU is just speeding up the learning curve.
It uses an innovative new technology, namely a ramp. It has been designated STOBAR, unlike the CATOBAR of the SEU catapaults. It makes the Aircraft Carrier cheaper (Steam catapults are expensive), and is also easier to maintain. Given, the Su-8s and Su-4s that the DRC gets need to take off with substantially lighter loads, but that's okay seeing as they are not going to attack things halfway across the globe, but rather to contain their main rival in the region, the New Abyssinian Empire.
The SEU Military badly needs funds, and DRC needs weapons, and fast, so both sides decide to save each other a lot of trouble. The DRC has grown very rich from mineral extraction, tourism of wildlife and agriculture. The SEU is also rich, but they have places to spend that money that is not the military, such as stupidly large dams and clean energy. The SEU Military agrees to make a number of weapons deals with them that will end in DRC being the most well armed state in Africa and the SEU Navy actually being able to operate its Supercarriers, the Army actually purchasing T-54As, and the Air Force speeding up the MiG-21 development program so that SEU can have a new fighter jet instead of the aging MiG-17s.
    OOC:
    • Supercarriers are the superstars of a navy. They are also correspondingly hard to operate and incredibly expensive. For some reason, SEU built 6, and they can hardly operate 1 because cost. But building one that works is actually pretty incredible, and this just shows how rich and strong SEU is. They are for the top tiers of Global strength.
    • Normal Aircraft Carriers are like mini-Supercarriers. They do their job, but building one isn't all that impressive. Aircraft Carriers are useful for power projection in general, but their size is their limit; they can't host the massive amounts of tech on Supercarriers.
    • Cruisers are workhorses. They are basically there to do whatever Destroyers can't and where Supercarriers are overkill. They do anything, and pretty well too. They are moderately expensive and only for the developed nations, but they can do the job in any situation.
    • Destroyers are also workhorses. Really, really cheap workhorses that can be pumped out 1 every week for nations like SEU (in shipbuilding terms, that is really, really fast.) and still reasonably fast for anyone that can afford it, dime-a-dozen, that anyone with really good buddies or decent money can afford. They do everything, but not very well; they also can't do some things at all, and that's where Cruisers come in.
    • Corvettes and Frigates are basically Green-Water vessels, only useful for coastal defense and is unable to actually fight anything above unorganized pirates. Basically for the poorest of the lot, they are for people who only care about defending their own waters from pirates.
    • Beyond this, there are a whole crapload of support vessels, such as repair ships and tankers. Those are important to building a Blue-Water Navy, of which only SEU qualifies as.

  8. The Railway is a big business in the Caliphate, and since places like North Africa have a close urban density to the North, building a railway is incredibly simple.

Although the Caliphate has gotten EXTREMELY rich, they also had to pay big dollars in sacrifice for some things for the railway.

But a plan even crazier has been imagined...

    A Sahara Railway.

Yes, a railway running through the Sahara Desert to connect to West Africa and the rest of the continent. This is only in talks however, but multiple plans have come out. It will be determined if this is a good idea or not, but it will definitely boom Africa.
  9. DRC is using their new STOBAR Carrier to project their power from their only port. SEU is also selling them AK-47s, Su-8s, MiG-17s and T-54s so that they can protect themselves from their Islamic enemies.
The SEU Army has modified 1,000 T-54As to the T-54B. This will give them stronger combat capability. SEU is unable to purchase any new T-54Bs, because their armed forces are poor, but they know that in times of war, the Armed Forces will get whatever it wants and the SEU Government basically gives them a blank check (they get to do whatever they want) in times of actual war in exchange for starving them out at peacetime.
SEU has also developed an Armor-Piercing Fin-Stabilized Discarding Sabot and made it the standard issue for the T-54 series of tanks. In any case, the MiG-21 and the Su-12 project based off the MiG-21 but with greater range has been authorized because they need power projection and to defend against other Aircraft.
The MiG-21 will combine interceptors and air superiority in one jet.
SEU has new plans, and they are furiously selling their MiG-19s and MiG-17s to make room for the MiG-21, and to provide funds. The Il-2 is long overdue for replacement but SEU has no real alternative. However, some designs of Helicopter seem promising and SEU has contracted Ilyushin.
  10. The Federation is dissolving totally(this is due to my inactivity and i may join the next one of these but right now i cannot be active enough to play this game)

  11. The Caliphate is sad to hear of The Federation's dissolvement. However, due to the Caliphate's very strong trade relationships and imports of food from the region, Mexico and Brazil remain strong allies of the Caliphate.

Argentina, Bolivia and Colombia stay as strong trading partners with the Caliphate. Keeping a relationship with the Sunayyad Caliphate has seen them prosper and they stay inclined to keep that relationship for a while.
  12. SEU has begun development of the Mil Mi-8, simplified to Mi-8.
The Mi-8 is a general-purpose helicopter. It can transport stuff, mount weapon racks, be an armed gunship, basically a jack of all trades including being a Civilian Helicopter. Ilyushin has bought the License and ran with it, believing it has enormous potential. Many other private companies are also developing Civilian Helicopters.
In any case, Ilyushin has sold several to the SEU Military and Government so that they can do whatever they want.
  13. The UBR proposes an International Highway System crossing national borders and connecting countries across the world. There would be 5 systems; Eurasia (E-routes), Africa (A-routes), Oceania (O-routes), North America (N-routes), and South America (S-routes). The systems would consist of pre-existing highways and new highways, if a country does not already have a good network. The UBR as well as other UN members would jointly pay for new highways. The routes would be numbered using a system set up by the UBR. The intended result would be increased infrastructure and development throughout the world.

  14. SEU knows all too well that this would disrupt the Belt Initiative, and instead pushes for greater cooperation within the USSR using a new initiative to go with the belt; the Road initiative.
The combined Belt and Road initiative will make the USSR as a trading bloc much stronger. SEU knows that the Soviet Union is currently doing nothing, but SEU wants to spread the Socialist ideology everywhere.
    wafflecoffee likes this.
  15. The SEU would not be required to create more roads, this applies to most of the USSR for that matter, but there would be a new numbering system for roads (ooc: like the International E-road network in Europe now, but on a much larger scale). The only places that would require new roads would be those places that do not have adequate road transportation systems already in place. Every new highway built would also have a rail line running between the two sides of the highway so that car will not be the only way of transport.
  16. The Caliphate is somewhat open to the UBR's suggestion, but less now because of the fact that the Middle East/MENA regions were not included in the International Highway System visioned by the UBR.

The Caliphate already has a complex road system, however because there are large open areas of little settlement the road networks are little for the size, because well, there is no point in even going through most places.

Bulgaria is the only European nation that has a road system in place with the Caliphate, as the Constantinople road system runs through to Sofia (Bulgaria Capital).
  17. Originally, places west of the Suez would have been in the A-routes and places east of it would have been in the E-routes, however a 6th category, M-routes, can be added for the MENA region.

  18. The Road initiative is a Sea-based trading initiative that will remove pirates.
To this end, SEU has dispatched 22 old Dokrip-Class Destroyers to various African nations and Asian nations to remove Piracy. However, SEU is requesting payment. This is basically the Navy trying to make money any way they can.
In addition, SEU has drawn up plans for a guided missile Destroyer and Cruiser, upgrades of the Wuhu that can be produced economically. Guided Missiles will both serve as AA and Antiship weapons, and SEU will equip them with the latest and greatest in Radar. However, SEU will equip them with several 12.7mm and 7.6mm machine guns to help them fend off pirates anyway.
The AK-47 has proved itself a great success in warfare, and SEU continues that trend with the announcing of the RPG-7, an antitank grenade launcher that also serves as (surprisingly) an Anti-Helicopter weapon and with some anti-personnel capabilties. SEU openly admits their weapons are not the best, and that the Caliphate and SNE outclass them in almost all regards. However, SEU stresses that when an AK-47 breaks, there is nothing to worry about; just throw it away and get a new one. The RPG-7 is not a good antitank weapon, but it can do the job when used right. SEU has also introduced the RPK (light) and PK (general-purpose) machine guns from the same guy that make the AK-47, Mr. Kalashnikov and Kalashnikov concern.
    SEU small-arms and weapons are
    • Easily mass-produced.
    • Reliable.
    • Cheap. This is their primary trait.
    • Mediocre performance, at best.
    • Unergonomic. This has proved problematic at several points in the past.
  19. The MBT-5.5 Omega has been produced, an upgraded version to the MBT-5, it still keeps the 105mm, however has been upgraded with improved storage and ammo rack protection capabilities. Basically a protection upgrade with the crucial utilities and supplies inside of the vehicles.

As far as the Navy goes, the Caliphate is doing an overhaul.

The new focus is missile guided and anti-ship cruisers, and specifically cruisers and submarines the most, as well as aircraft carriers. Corvettes and other minor vessels are used, but outside of military use, and are mainly used by the Coast Guard to protect against piracy and act as a patrol force for "civillian scale matters."
Of course oil tankers and supply ships are abundant, amphibious assault ships are somewhat used, but less than the other ships.
Destroyers are also in abundance, as they are incredibly easy to produce at large scales.

    Aircraft Carrier:

    Fatima II Class
    60,000 tons of displacement
    33 knots of speed
    10 x 5 inch Turk Guns
    Anti-Ship and Anti-Missile systems
    26 x Arabic AA guns
    70-90 Aircraft Carried

    Existing Cruiser:

    Tigris-Class Heavy Cruiser:
    20,500 Displacement
    33 knots of speed
    6 x twin 5-inch Turk Guns
    4 x triple 8-inch Turk Guns
12 x quadruple 40 mm Arabic AA Guns
24 x single 20 mm Arabic AA Guns
    2 21-inch Torpedo Tubes

Has been modeled to fit SAM and Anti-Ship and Cruise missile capabilities (I hope this is correct, I don't know If I can do this, but I'm tired of research lol)

The Mamluk Class Destroyer has been seen as a great success, and will keep in production a little longer, however with various upgrades and hopefully guided missile variants

    3,500 displacement
    36.5 knots of speed
    8,850 km operating range
    5 single Turk 5-inch guns
    14 40mm Arabic AA guns
    10 21 inch torpedo tubes
    2 Depth Charge rack
    6 Depth Charge Launchers

The current submarine is the Deniz Class, seen here:
    3,000 tons submerged
21,000 kilometers range surfaced at 10 knots
10 x 21 Inch torpedo tubes, six forward, four aft, 24 torpedos
48 hours endurance 2 knots submerge

    250 ft depth

However, the Caliphate's latest Nuclear Powered Submarine has nearly finished production and should head out into the sea within the next year.
Specs of the Nuclear Powered SCS Nammu, Nammu being named after the Mesopotamian goddess of the sea.

    3,600 tons surfaced
    4,100 tons submerged
23 knots, STR Nuclear Reactor, geared steam turbines, two shafts
    6 torpedo tubes

The Caliphate wishes to launch Nammu in 1 years time. She will be launched in a Persian Gulf port and will be the longest submerged cruise of a submarine ever. She will definitely be great.

The Caliphate has adopted the ship prefix name, SCS for Sunayyad Caliphate's Ship

Helicopter designs are underway, as new methods of safe medical evacuations and utility/transport helicopters are needed. This new helicopter design, known as the Hittite, designed by a Turkish company will be set for introduction in 2 years. (Literally the US Huey)
To find new ways of supply and cargo transportation, Tandem rotor technologies are being researched.

Over all, the Caliphates Air force is at a decent level, being fast, as one aircraft is already a supersonic aircraft, and being able to enact in Deep Warfare and initiate fast attack and fast movement capabilities, being a main method in the Caliphate's army, speed.

In terms of training troops, the quality of training has gone up, and due to the alliances with various countries, troops like the Masif Corp are experiencing warfare in cold climates (Canada) and forested Climates in Bulgaria and South Nubia and Ghana. The old crazed methods of fearing death and what not are somewhat phasing out. Although troops are hardened and expected to fight with all their capabilities and will power to claim victory and possibly break the back of death, the extremist ideas are lessened, and only the small percentage of WW2 veterans in the military still share these views, however all of caliphate's troops are trained very well.

  20. Currently, the Caliphate has a mandatory service program for healthy and fit males between the ages of 18-24. If capable mentally, physically and what not, a certain period of time must be met of service, meaning the Caliphate has a massive number of potential men in the army.

The Population of the Sunayyad Caliphate measures over 110 million
The Military population including reserves is at nearly 2 million, with a possibility of reaching 4 million men, which would cause immense instability issues of course.
In a peaceful time however, out of 2 million reserves, only 450,000 are active.

The M4 Sakhra is currently the most popular rifle, being a decently reliable and accurate weapon.
