What's your weirdest habits/hobbies?

  1. I tighten my vocal chords and emit high-pitched laughter, strange phrases, or just squeaking noises.
My brain likes to remind me of past embarrassments and anxiety-inducing incidents, and distracting it with sudden (bizarre) noises is my way of getting it to shut up.
Brain: "So remember that time in fourth grade-"
Mouth: "La la la, MEEP, hee-hee! FEAR THE TOMATOES!"
    Brain: "Uh... right. Nevermind."

Of course, since people can't hear my thoughts, to them it's just random ridiculous noises, and kinda disturbing.

  2. ... I could type this out, but it's kinda fun to let people figure out.
I have many ways that I try to keep focus, because dare I lose focus, I tend to think about the past, or worse, or get tangled in a mess of emotions...
Coding, math (even though I suck at it), pacing, music. but so much more in depth than that....
  3. How successful do you tend to be, and can you share some photos of crystals you've found? I'm intrigued.
  4. Well, I've been trying to think of a few "weird" things I do. These are the first things that I could think of:

    1. I refer to vacuums as "bacuums" (Generally just in a joking way). I called them that when I was little, and my parents went along with it because they thought it was cute. :)

    2. I enjoy sticking my feet under stuff to stretch them, because I am a ballerina and flexible and strong feet are ideal.

My leg is completely straight and on the floor for this:

Here is somewhat how it looks wearing pointe shoes:

    3. I used to count in my head everywhere I walked at school. "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,2,2,3,4,5,6,7,8" repeat. I have since stopped, but I found it made it easier to go up and down all the stairs when I started high school.
  5. 1. i can fiddle with literally anything that can click

    2. i listen to music on youtube just to imagine what a geometry dash level with the song would look like

    3. i used to use lol in every single sentence i typed on discord or sms (i still do it sometimes)

    4. i shiny hunt pokemon without a shiny charm or anything to assist me

    5. i've traveled so much that i can fall asleep in a small airplane in the back row where the front of the engine is 2m away from my face and all i can hear is the roar of the engine. i can also sleep in the 3rd row of a suv without lying down.

funny story while i was traveling to colorado for sum

    6. i use this chair at my desk (essentially my gaming chair) but unless i'm playing geometry dash i will sit with the back of the chair 90 degrees to my left and sit criss-cross on the chair (which i'm doing as i type this). when i AM playing geometry dash i will slump so that i'm sitting on the edge of the chair and only my upper back (my shoulder blade area) is actually touching the back of the chair.

it's actually pretty comfy and i prefer it over cushioned chairs or my couch
  6. 1. But when do you ever talk about vacuums? :p Or is vacuum an abbreviation of vacuum cleaner?
    2. Woah.
    3. Why is the 1 substituted with a 2 after the first 8?

  7. 1) In reference to vacuum cleaners. "Hmm, I need to bacuum my bedroom floor."
    3) I'm not sure why I did that. Probably related to counting in dance, hahaha. There's often a certain amount of counts of eight involved.

  11. 1: When a seat has only a small backrest, I prefer to turn it backwards and sit with my legs over the top of backrest, knees over the top, feet dangeling down. Probably the only reason I can do that is that I am 6 "9 or 205cm.
2: I say "Whello there" instead of "hello" when talking or writing in Englisch.
3: When with some of my friends, we never seem to be able to decide in what langue we should speak, switching from Dutch to Englisch to German to Frensh and occasionally to some Latin. (only works when you're friends with langue nerds) Which is also interesting for I only speak the basics of Frensh (I'm at B1) and some of my friends don't speak Latin, which makes that not all langue shifts go unnoticed (as they usually do)
4: I always thank people in Frensh, which is why my Englisch pronounciation of "thank you" sounds so weird, I'll always say "merci beaucoup" or an alteration of that.
5: I often prefer doing mathematics to being with other people.
  12. I happen to have a tendency to switch topics when needed by asking the simple question, "You like cheese?". It tends to either work wonders or turn heads, but it always changes the topic.

  13. So in marching band, I play a silver plated Euphonium. So all last season and now starting this season I polish it nightly. I did the same with my Concert Euph. I don't know why I do it but it's shiny now :p
[EDIT] It actually isn't shiny. I ran it over. My new one is shiney.

  15. It's how you'd count measures! They'll teach you to count bars of rest like that.

    1 2 3 4 | 2 2 3 4 | 3 2 3 4 | 4 2 3 4 | 5 2 3 4 | 6 2 3 4 |
    Dancers count with eighth notes, so they usually end up with 8 beats or |1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 |

  16. I love shark teeth. I don't have many because space for books > space for shark teeth, but I do have a megalodon tooth from Key Largo that I adore :)
  17. 3: woohoo to Latin, I tend to curse in Latin if I'm in front of mom- always goes unnoticed. Surprised she's not figured it out yet xD (there's another)
5: Aye, is more complex better for you? That's part of my habit...
Foxy_Kitty, Jelle68 and luckycordel like this.
  18. That's interesting, thanks! That makes sense, actually! I think I just do it by feel, or at least I don't count consciously. Then again, I only play piano and maybe organ, and you wouldn't have 6 bars of rest often while playing those, except maybe at the beginning, in which case you'll just need to remember a cue for when to start.

Oh yes, my friends used to do that in second grade... it was fun when we met a former teacher (he taught us Greek in first grade) who could actually understand spoken Latin (what's more impressive is that he partly managed his agenda in Hebrew, so people couldn't read it and gather sensitive information if he left it somewhere).
  19. I have a favorite spot at my favorite movie theater, so I arrive almost an hour before the movie starts to be the first into the theater so I can sit in my spot.
