  1. Hehe I finally decided to build my ikea desk so here it is :p

  2. I cannot let this thread die...

I've made a few updates to my setup since I first posted it two years ago. It looks like I haven't dusted it since, but I dusted it last month . Where I live gets dusty real quick. I don't really game anymore, so I mostly use my laptop for graphic design and running some side business.

    The New:
    • Dell XPS 15 (9570)
      • i7-8750h six-core
      • 16 gigabytes of RAM
      • 1050 ti Max-Q
      • 512 gigabytes NVME SSD
      • 4k display
    • Dual Samsung 24-inch 1080p monitors
    • Klipsch ProMedia THX 2.1 speakers
    • Sony MDR-WH1000XM3 headphones
    • Cooler Master Masterkeys Pro L
    • Wacom Bamboo Ink (not pictured)
    The Old:

    • Logitech MX Master
    • Sony alarm clock
    • Staples mesh chair
    • $25 Craigslist desk
    • Rubber ducky collection
I am really happy with how everything is now, but my desk may be too big for a dorm once I head off to college. So, this may be the final evolution of my desk.
  3. Oooh, nice desk you got there! I think I'm going to contribute to this thread again. Though, to prevent double-posting, I'll wait for someone else to go first before I do.
  4. Aw yeah, Olaf my old friend! I have a MXMaster and love it!
  5. Well I have a table for my gaming place 1 laptop is 9-10 YEARS old lol
    The other is 3

  6. Finally, I got a real table! Also, I feel bad for my micr preamp... It produces a 60hz hum whenever I use my microphone... Fortunately, others have told me that they cannot hear it on Discord. :D

  8. 512 terrabites how much was that
  9. 512 terabytes can basically fit everything that has ever been digitized onto it xD
  10. I bairly have 1TB lol
  11. Sorry... my mind kept going between writing 512 GB or its terabyte equivalent (one half), so it unfortunately compromised in the worst possible way.

  12. Ha lol I wish I had a 512 TB SSD lol
  13. Here's my new baby... naturally after shelling out almost 1 grand on upgrades, life's given me zero time to play video games >.<

First dual monitor setup ever. 1920x1080p 60Hz HP w2338h on the left, 1920x1080p 144Hz MSI Optix MAG24C

Under the hood is an i5 8600k. Can't get clocks particularly far above max turbo without it getting too hot, so I'm going to delid sometime soon, because my 500,000 pop and growing cities skylines world could use the extra power I bet. The Crossfire RX 480s was a happy accident - I originally had the reference card, tried to put an arctic accelero on it, got no display, thought it was broken. Didn't like the sag and the lack of VRM cooling worried me, so I reassembled the stock heatsink. By the time I tested it, I already impulse-bought another RX 480 from ebay, so I decided to have a crossfire config. Definitely not preferable to a single stronger card (have to physically remove the second 480 to make R6 playable, for instance), probably gonna replace with a 1070 if/when I can actually use it for more than 2 hours a week, lol.

  14. I guess it's better than 0.5 GB.

Not anywhere close. :p It would be really strange if this were true, if you consider that people do have drives of 1 or 2 TB, or sometimes 0.5 TB, but even then, 512/0.5 is only 1024 drives needed. There are obviously more than 1024 people with a modern pc. ;)
There are zettabytes of data in the world. One zettabyte = a thousand exabytes = a million petabytes = a billion terabytes.

  17. Excuse the poor picture and the mess xD Currently mid robotics season, so I'm lucky to be home maybe 2 and a half hours a day (Not including time I'm sleeping) Need to buy a USB to HDMI for the monitor on the left, but currently it's hooked up to my old desktop I have below the desk.
  18. Set up the new standing desk (with built in light) :D
I timed it where they were all blue, but they are able to change to my whim. Now to get a mousepad, standing mat (like I have at work) and organize those wires...
