Hurricane Florence

  1. Hey community, there is a pressing concern

Hurricane Florence is a projected Category 5 hurricane to hit the middle of both Carolina's. Damage is projected to be massive. Please prepare accordingly.

As an individual who knows some who live there, I suggest to get a game plan. Get away from the coast, start moving to the west, grab food and supplies. Fuel is a must, grab some of your gas cans and fill them up. Every little drop does count when power is off for a couple of weeks.

If you have no means to travel west away from the coast, get your windows boarded up and put your valuables in the attic. Don't want flood waters to ruin your personal belongings.

    Stay safe out there

  2. This image should automatically update itself since its source points to the National Hurricane Center's Forecast cone:

There she is from the International Space Station:

  3. It's been raining an insane amount in Austin, TX lately and I've been told this hurricane is the reason. If it's causing these rains we've been seeing that far away from where it is, I'd absolutely hate to be right in the path of the eye of this storm.

  5. Watch out folks, reports are stating that Hurricane Florence might be upgrading to a Category 5!
  6. I wonder if Aikar has taken precautions. Would hate to see all the data of EMC get flooded before the 1.13 water update.
  7. Servers aren't hosted on his home computers lol

  8. Looks like the map that I posted is getting updated automatically! Looks like the Hurricane Watch just got upgraded to a Hurricane Warning along the Carolina coasts.
  9. I'm at ground zero here in central NC. I've been through several hurricanes and this one looks like it might be the worst one yet in our area during my lifetime. After Hurricane Fran hit in 1996 I went without power for two full weeks. If you live in the projected path of Hurricane Florence I cannot stress how important it is to prepare yourself before it's too late. There's no telling how long it might be until normal services are restored.

Be safe. Hoops Station One signing out.
  10. Hurricane Forence.

    It's probably nothing.

Hurricane Florence on the other hand.

    Still nothing.
  11. Yes... she keeps getting bigger, and even in mid TN we're warned yet another hurricane's gonna die over us, in my area we're being warned (not speaking for everyone in "mid TN")- right after Gordon gave us a front.. sigh...
  12. For those of you in mandatory evacuation zones: get up and leave. I know many people during Hurricane Sandy who ignored the warnings and it didn't turn out too well for them. Listen to the authorities and stay safe. Good luck!

  13. Well, may I add that Hurricane Florence isn't our only worry, we have another storm, named Tropical Storm Olivia, headed for the already battered Hawaii. Hawaii is still recovering from Lane, and they're getting another storm.
