  1. Greetings fellow EMCers! After browsing through and waiting for my new computer to come, that made me curious about what players like you use to operate this simplistic looking, but resource intensive game. If you don’t know your computers specs, just check the About This Computer tab and type what it shows (location varies on what type of computer you have).

In case you wanted to know, my soon to come computer is 2.7GHz quad‑core 8th‑generation Intel Core i7 processor, with Turbo Boost up to 4.5GHz, 8GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory and 256GB SSD storage. Share your specs below!
  2. Sounds like you got some nifty hardware there to render a nice shader or optimize your playing with smooth OP FPS. My first computer specs were 512mb HDD, 4mb RAM, 33mhz processor, 1200 baud modem, and came with Windows 3.1.1. I got a free copy of the upgrade to Windows 95...Yay! Today, I use something similar to your build with an i7 Quad core Processor, but the older 6700k which I think also boosts up to 4.7 or 4.8, I am currently utilizing 32 of possible 64GB memory, I believe my solid state drive was 480 Gb, but shows 446 from formatting, in addition to this there are some extra drives from previous builds added in for an extra 5TB of storage.

I know your excited, and I hope it is all you want it to be. I would caution you to not be too disheartened when you look next week or next month and see some Faster, Stronger, Better component that you could have gotten if you had waited. This happened to me on my video card. I mention this because I didn't see you mention one, so if you do search for one, be sure to check what may be releasing in the near future around the time you are looking to buy. I got a GTX 970, only to find out a couple months later the GTX 1070 was released.

But hey, it is still really neat, and I am happy. I hope you are too.

  3. Ok, I think it’s fine to give it away. The computer is specifically the new 13 inch MacBook Pro that came out yesterday. Took them long enough to finally get the updated components :p

I’ve gotten used to seeing the 1 week or month later new better components become available, as long as it can run my stuff properly I’m happy. I’m gonna say another thing, aren’t Virtual Machines amazing?

  5. I got a 17.3 inch HP Omen Gaming laptop customed ordered by HP themselves. (I got carried away)

Windows 10 home 64 bit installed right out of the box. This was about the time Windows 10 was new and everyone was getting the annoying notification to install windows 10. I got it right then and there so I didn't have an outdated operating system.

Includes an Intel Core i7 6700HQ Quad core at 2.60GHz Still have the option of Turbo Boosting it... Really don't want too because it runs hot most times.

16 Gb of Ram of unknown DDR. I believe it's DDR3. It's plenty of what I do

225 GB SSD, 1 TB 7200 RPM HDD. Great startups and plenty of memory to hold games, pictures, and quick file transfers.

Have a NIVIDA Geforce GTX 960M card of 2 GB of Video Ram. Runs great and really for what I play, it's more than satisfactory. What was a bonus that I didn't know that my laptop screen was a 4k screen. So with that known, it's been awesome.

Overall I paid about $1,570.00 after tax and shipping with Microsoft office two years ago. It's serving me well still. Next computer purchase will be a desktop and my laptop will be a mobile gaming center.

  17. I recently upgraded to some slightly newer stuff. Moose's bday was on the 7th and I bought him a few parts for his upgrade, so I got his hand-me-downs. Highlighted changed items in orange on old, green on new. Which honestly, are way more than I need.

    What I HAD:
    AMD Radeon R9 200 / HD 7900 Series
    Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
    24 GB DDR3 1600 RAM
    3TB HDD

  18. My trusty PC that I built ... whoa, already more than 4 year ago?! :

CPU: Intel Core i7 3770k at overclocked from 3.5-3.9 to 4.4 GHz (lazy overclock)
    Mobo: Asrock Z77 Extreme 4
    CPU cooler: Noctua NH-D14
    RAM: 2x4 GB and 1x8GB = 16 GB total, all 1600 MHz
GPU: MSi Twinfrozr II GTX 680
PSU: 630W be quiet! Pure Power L8
Storage: - 1x SanDisk Extreme II 120GB SSD
    ________ - 1x Seagate 1TB HDD
________ - 1x Western Digital Red (I believe) 2TB HDD (that was supposed to be in here for only a few weeks and then go into a NAS, which I said I believe more than a year ago. :p)
OS: Windows 7 (of course :D)

It's served me well these past more than 4 years and continues to serve me really well. :) I have no need yet at all (except maybe add another 8 GBs of RAM) to upgrade anything. :)

  19. I'm very surprised that our setups are not too different from one another in terms of age, especially the cpu. I built my machine 5 years ago and, well, (to be frank) I need to get an upgrade. My cpu is bottlenecking my video card... :\
