  2. I love your BRZ, these pictures are great too! What did you take them using? :)

Old Pandas are great ;) Thin on the ground now though! Go careful with boy racer as the insurance will be higher and if you're adding things like alloys you will have to declare them to your insurer. Because my alloys are Fiat Uno Turbo alloys, Admiral allowed them as a manufacturer aftermarket alloy and therefore my declaration was free at my first renewal but they did want me to pay them admin fee and for the addition of the modification during my first year but I refused and waited until the renewal to fit and declare.

Ford Fiestas in general are pretty good to be honest, either new or old. Make sure you aim to get a smaller petrol engine type rather than the bigger ST/diesel versions as those ones will cost more on insurance! Always check sites like confused.com to check quotes out before you buy, that's what I did!

  5. Our group from school got together today, because one of us did a profession of faith... my best friend came in a Mazda MX-5 with pop-up headlights. :D It's her father's, apparently.

  6. The Mazda MX5 with the pop-ups is a solid contender for one of the most well known soft top sports cars I'd say! Being a pop-up version it'll be a mk1, which if you ask me is the only MX5 you should consider if you had to buy one ;) Don't think the others catch the true essence as much as the original did, it's the same with a lot of cars really!

  7. As I sit here on the bus coming home after school I just saw an Audi R8 V10 drive in the opposite direction. Wish I could of gotten a picture. A few months ago I had seen some Ferrari about to get onto the highway. Where I live you don't see many super cars much less sports cars!
  8. While I'm waiting for a good opportunity to take a picture of my friend's Mazda, here's the car of the guy I showed your Photography thread, earlier.

He bought it when he was 15 years old, and her name is Yellouise. :D
  9. Love the colour! Old 106s are starting to become classic now too! Still cheap and cheerful for the normal models but the Rallye/GTI etc are really shooting up value wise!

  10. I love the colour too, but especially in combination with the name. :D It seems cheesy but it's such a great name! He's also got two fake license plates with 'YELLOUISE' on it. :)

  11. Ok, looking at getting an old(ish) car, and thinking about security. I’m doing a takeoff steering wheel (cause they’re cool), a dash cam, and wiring in a kill switch. Ideas?
  12. A few days ago I saw this exact model and colour (as far as I could tell) being for sale on the side of the street, for €1300. Not that I'm interested, I don't have a license and the car is too flashy for me, but I wondered if that's a good price? I have no idea. :p

  13. I'm getting a Jeep ZJ 1995, with the good reliable 318 Mopar small block.

    Here's a photo
  14. Going to modify it at all?

  15. All good ideas, personally I just use a steering lock - kill switches work very well though. A friend used to take his rotor arm out of his distributor every time he left his car anywhere!
If it's a proper GTI then it sounds like a decent deal! Don't see many like that now, the standard 106s are still very very cheap mind, but the GTI model is getting ever rarer!
Looking good, I do like the older Jeeps!

In keeping with some car related posts, here are a few from my recent Fiat Panda 4x4 expedition to Wales with UK Panda 4x4!

Had a great time out in the wilderness in Wales, mind you we did end up almost swimming at this point... ;)

Lots of decent testing sections, time for lots of repairs now!

  16. You think I wouldn't?
  17. I had looked at pulling the fuse for the fuel pump, but popping the hood every time I leave it is too inconvenient. I'm thinking the steering wheel removal will work the same as a steering lock, with the added benefit of making it easier to get into if I ever get non-reclining racing seats.

I have a good friend named Aaron who is a purist. He loves restoring old Hondas, and thinks I'm a monster for using zip ties to fix cracked bumpers and putting dry nos kits on everything. He wouldn't touch the Jeep, but then again, he wouldn't drive anything that new and non-boxy.

Speaking of Aaron, we're planning to take several road trips to hit every famous driving road in America that's within a one day journey, culminating with a week long trip to the Tail of the Dragon. First on the list is a pair of roads 50 miles away from each other. We're calling it the Double Barrel.
  18. Got a 1995 Civic EX today. Pics tomorrow.
  19. What's that?
