Puzzle ???????

Thanks for the actual feedback. Check out the OP for a better understanding of what was actually going on and why it was the way it was. If it wasn't apparent, I will not be making a Let's Play series and this one was created entirely for the puzzle. I really thought the quality and random jumps along with everything else would make it apparent that this wasn't a normal let's play but I guess I overestimated the quality of the average Minecraft Youtuber

For everyone else:
Unfortunately, this puzzle was not solved although you are free to check it out for the story elements. Previously, I was certain I wanted to make more of these for EMC but now I am much less sure. If you would like to see more of these, please vote in the poll and say so here. If I make another, I would like to push the story element even more while also balancing the puzzles. If you are interested in helping out at all with building or something else, please post here as well. I won't be able to make another without help.

I enjoyed this, but I think this puzzle had way too many potential leads to be solvable in a reasonable amount of time.

I agree with Rhy. I watched the video a second time (volume all the way down, all lights on) and I was like lolwut. I didn't even attempt to try to solve it.

Hey there jkrmnj, just a little feedback on my end: I think overall the puzzle was fun, but perhaps including a clue as to how to get software in order to decrypt might have been useful to me at least. I asked a few times for help in game and on this thread to anyone who had linux or any sort of experience with decrypting. The information my little group had anyone could have gotten easily (just copying the text on the res and from the vid) therefore we never copied our notes here on the thread. We always thought there was something "special" with the forest of trees but never got that far, nice touch.
We got most of the clues I would say but could not for the life of us figure out how to decrypt - or should I say, we knew HOW to decrypt it, but didn't have the correct program to do so. So for me at least, this was frustrating enough to leave it alone.

Yep. The other ones I felt were too easy and solved extremely quickly. I decided to go much harder on this one but I guess it was too much. I actually scaled it down from the original ideas

The clue for the software was entirely in the extra tab. Without it though, that would have been pretty much impossible to guess simply because there are so many options. I will definitely be looking at what I did in the past for encrypted messages to figure out where I went wrong here if I do another.

The reason I voted 'No' in the poll back when I first found this thread, is that I didn't really see many people trying to solve the puzzle, while I did see that a lot of effort went into it. That seemed like wasted effort, to me.
