  1. not all mobs can be spawned in with items nor in town I don't think. Plus I was hoping to "gather" many players of different skills and time so everyone got a chance to be in those more epic fights and chance for the higher end loot.

  2. This is a game I play with my kids and friends on my private server. Would require making teams, and probably two admins depending on turn out.

    Post Format:
    Event Name: Hades' Blitz
Description of Event: Survive increasingly difficult waves of monsters for 4 days after an initial 3 days of preparation on an with nothing in hand to start.
Build Required for Event: Imagine an archipelago of islands dotting along the ocean. Teams get dropped on them. Kinda like Skyblok but normal survival on the ground. No extras to start. Teams are allowed to build underground, but mobs can purposely be spawned in their lairs if they build underground.
No one is expected to survive day 7. But the last guy standing wins.

  4. I would like to see some sort of Protect-the-point game. This is just a rough idea, but players would head out into the wild to a predefined place where a villager with full P4 diamond armor is trapped, but still accessible. There would be some sort of defensive structure around the villager to help protect it, but not strong enough so that entry is impossible. Staff would spawn a bunch of zombies outside of the fort, and the players would have to defend the villager from the zombies. Over time, stronger and stronger zombies with armor and certain buffs would be spawned, and the people who survived until the villager was killed would receive tokens based on how long the villager survived.
  5. I never knew that event existed but i feel that would be my all time favourite event if i was to actually take part in one xd
  6. I was thinking of saying about Hide N seek which Scarmanzer spoke about. I have a Hide and seek res i specially made for the game mode and I'm happy to let Toade or whoever use it just i have been waiting 7 months for some sort of senior staff service in which you can have stuff like name tags not show so for the more nooby players who do not know how shift/crouching works will be able to play properly too and the fact that it kinda hurts to hold shift for 5+ minutes. hmu toade if you wanna check the res out sometime and i can show you it and it could maybe be a start of something which the build team would make more hide and seek maps with lots of secret spots etc idk

EDIT - maybe hide and seek would be a great game for EMC games which isnt a pvp based one

  7. Working on it, but the part in red is the issue as you know.

  8. Event Name: Power Shopping

    Description of Event:
This is intended as a kind of scavenger hunt that has automatically-moving targets.

Put players on an island that has villagers. Plenty of them. Make the island so it has hidden areas, caves, houses, whatever, but build it in a way that allows villagers to freely roam. Players get a shopping list - in the style of "bring me two fried fish, three yellow wool, and a mending book". First player to return with all necessary items wins.

This could be in a few variations:
    • Players stock up their inventories before starting the event (probably not a THAT great idea because people could just fill their inventories with everything villagers could possibly sell, then turn in stuff immediately), or need to come with empty inventories, just like the second part of Mob Arena (do non-senior staff have /invsee to verify this?) and be issued a stack of emeralds, or even be issued some stuff like wheat, melons, iron, coal, ... that they need to trade in for emeralds first. Maybe it would make sense to do this in the event area with people having a different inventory, just like in the easter event.
    • Initial inventory items could be plenty so everybody has enough to trade, or items could be a little scarce so you need to find villagers who sell for cheap
    • All objectives given at the start, or whenever someone hands in one thing they get their next objective, so remembering villager locations gives you an advantage.
    • Villagers might be in fixed positions using minecarts, fences, and similar, or able to freely roam the island, to make it a bit harder to find them
    • If done in town, this could be spiced up with a few well-hidden chest shops where players can buy that cod-anvil-renamed-to-trout for 1R which is one of the items requested.
    Build required for Event:
    • Anything works that isn't just a boring flat area. Be it a village, a mountainous area featuring several caves, a mall-like structure, or any build that's big enough to force people to find stuff.
    • Using the event area to have separate player inventories would probably be a plus
    • This could be done on a res as well, as long as there's an "inner" area that gets sealed off once the event begins, players who port out to get something elsewhere won't be able to come back. /vault would need to be turned off on that res, and also /mail so they can't use an alt to send them stuff.
    • This can accommodate dozens of people if the area is big enough. In Theory, there is no reason why hundreds shouldn't work, but the server probably can't handle them anyway.
    • If more than a handful of people do the event, and it's running in "get the next objective when you turn the first one in" mode, it's probably hard for whoever runs the event to track who needs to get what next. This would need an array of redstone machines (put the correct item into a hopper, get a written book, or an anvil-renamed piece of paper, that tells you what to get next from a dropper). Optionally, get a "token" as well so people can prove they turned everything in instead of just trying their luck on the last machine. This needs redstone, but nothing any more complicated than casinos, and can be done without command blocks.
    • To prevent any "hey, I threw that wool at you, why didn't you tick it off my list" arguments, an array of chests could be used, each with an "access: <playername>" sign on it. At event start, players get sign flags for a minute to claim "their" chest; players are expected to put their items in their chest and tell the staff member when they're done.
  9. Event Name: Zombie Survival!

Description of Event: A Survival Game where Teams are in prebuilt structures... There can be say 3-4 different styles and can change every once in a while. The Objective of the game is to guard the doors and holes to stop all zombies from coming in... The zombies come in waves, every wave higher than the last is More zombies and a Slightly higher diff Level... and say every 10-20 waves a new section of the building opens, with new Perks (Such as Potion effects, or Beacon Effects), but they only last for a set time per wave...
Teams can be say 4-8 people? Depending on size of place...

This is more or less based around the Zombies from the Call of Duty Games...

Build Required for Event: More or less what is said above.. Prebuilt structures with sections that lock off every 10-20 rounds. And then a few different styles to teams can choose what section... and they can be multi floored as well, and change up every month or 2 depending on how often its hosted...
  10. I like this idea, but instead of the wild... do them in the EMC attraction areas. (The graveyard, amusement park, etc)
  11. Pigcar racing

Some of you have seen the pigcars i have on my res, basicly; pigs with saddles in minecarts. You can drive the pigs (without rails and withough carrots) but interestingly the controls are backwards and they are slow, yet all the same speed = some skill is required.

Build required: a wide track thats also a bit of an obsticle course so would be frustrating yet fun, with many players racing at the same time.
I do see limits on the amount of people participating at once, although 50+ people racing in slow 'hard to drive' pigcars would be hilarious, if the track was built to suit as many (i recomend it is).

Maybe utopia town res (or two?) would be best suited for the size and possible turnout numbers.
Track should be adjusted/changed occationaly (move the obstacles, whatever) so it doesnt get boring if races are held routinely weekly/monthly/whatever.
Race could simply be one end to another, with twists, turns and obsticles (including levels, can go underground or above) rather than laps, as it would be easier to identify a winner.
Track starts extreamly wide to have all starters lined up equally, but should funnel somewhat as it progresses so identification of the winner is easier at a narrower end.

Note; a year or so ago, 'Nismo' did build a small pigcar course on his utopia res (after seeing my cars) it was quite good, i dont beleive he continued with it, but must give him credit for actualy doing it.
  12. or my res ;D

  13. Something me, cadenman and hash did a while back was a dunk booth. Set up a trapdoor with a button and use a bow from far away to hit the button. Also have staff members be dunked. Was fun

  14. dreadlode and I have already begun doing something that I think could be an event of some kind. We started the VRM (Village Renovation Mission). We find villages in the Waste to fix up, remodel, and repopulate the village. If we could get more involved we could make cities and have people build whatever they want! If you go to my Res at /v 3247 on smp2 you can donate to the cause to save villages.
  15. 1. Chess with either players or using colored blocks of wool.
    • With players: They would need skins for the different pieces and willing to listen to the captain and have patience.
    • With blocks: Come up with design or colors of some sort for the different pieces on the board.
    2. EMC Olympicswith various minecraft playable sports like sprints, hurdles, long jump, high jump, etc.
    3. Treasure hunts (I am sure these already exists but if not, these can be fun)
    4. Hide and Seek: can be done in 2 ways. Either in towns or wild. Since wild does not have named areas it might be a stretch but if in town it can be interesting. Staff member can hide in one of the residences, and give out clues on world chat and whoever finds gets rewards in order they found. If in wild, Staff Member can start off by giving a clue on which outpost players should teleport to then the direction in which we have to head to, a math or some kind of other clue on which block the staff member is hiding and so on.
    5. Theatre: Players can dress up (change skins) and act out a play from anywhere, movie, TV show, plays something like that. Or do a mash up of bunch of different shows or something
    .
    .
    .
On a grander level, all Staff Members can make an event, Carnival, maybe like on EMC founding day or something and have lots of games and activities like Mman suggested about the trapdoor game, mazes, meaning include all the suggestions into one big event.

Apologies if these sound dumb :(
  16. So someone already said a scavenger hunt, but if we do it in Town with landmarks, i think that'd be fun too.
People can nominate their residences and put a single chest shop out front for 1r that sells the item the player needs to grab to prove they visited.

The staff can make a short scavenger hunt list of clues that lead around to the different landmarks that have been submitted an the players can use the list to go around town and see different houses that people might not usually.

    No warping allowed, horses maybe.

Dude, as a chess lover, I absolutely adore this idea. I can just imagine being a captain up in a birds view commanding players on where to move.

    ie) Player to b7

But to bring it to an even larger scale, I think it would be cool for players to be able to form their own teams with a commander. Then you could have a huge tournament with donated prizes.... this is so amazing that I want to create it myself XD
Or players could simply wear colored helmets to avoid trouble of skin changing

  17. YES !
  18. Me and couple other buddies had this idea a while back. Sadly, these days I am not finding time to even come online or even vote. I would love to see this idea taking place in EMC in near future.

Also, I will feel like Ronald Weasley if we do this :p :p
