  1. Name: Dullahan
    Myths: Irish
Description: The dullahan is a fairy from a court of malevolent fairies. It's quite disturbing to see as it lacks a head and instead carries it in its own hand and wields a whip made of human spines. His horse that he rides is as dark as the blackest night, its eyes, red as blood. If you encounter one I'm afraid you may already be dead or someone else will soon be.

The dullahan rides about the countryside at night and where he stops riding, a human shall die. He does this by calling out the person's name, pulling their soul out from the very body that holds it. I warn you especially not to watch the dullahan do his grim work. Those who do may have their eyes struck by the whip and they shall go blind or if you're unlucky, he will throw blood on you, marking you for death soon enough.

There are ways to defend against the dullahan it's certainly not cheap for it’s gold. Gold scares the dullahan for reasons that I shall never understand, but I suggest that you always carry a piece of gold around with you. Now you could run, that is quite ineffective sadly. The dullahan is barred off from nowhere and his horse will catch up to you with its supernatural speed. You'll be dead soon enough.

  5. Name: Krampus
    Myths: Germanic
Description: Krampus is a demonic creature who is St. Nicholas' partner during the holiday season of Christmas, which can be quite a wonderful time for festivities for me too. I love walking among you during this season, you suddenly become so caring, almost as if Gailana made you all lighten up. As for Krampus, he carries with him chains and a bundle of branches to hit naughty children with and is quite foul.

On the 6th of December, Krampus comes to abduct naughty children, what he does with the children is awful. He may drown, eat, or drag them to the depths of a hellish realm for punishment. This makes him highly dangerous and not the kind of creature you'd want to meet, even worse, once he decides to come for you there is no way to stop him. You will die, I will not weep for you, you likely deserved it.

Your only hope, if you want to stop Krampus from coming to you is to be nice during the season. If you're naughty then I fear the son of Hel will be coming to kill you. Luckily if you're simply bad, not naughty, the worst you have to fear is some birch twigs in your shoes from St. Nicholas.

  6. Name: Bakeneko
    Myths: Japanese
Description: Bakeneko, the Japanese cat spirit. Not to be confused with nekomata, bakeneko is another cat spirit that becomes so upon reaching a certain age. Like most of the spirits, they're quite peculiar but they mostly maintain their resemblance to the cats you humans have domesticated, though the most significant difference is a split tail.

Bakeneko are relatively dangerous. Upon reaching 7 years of age a cat that had turned into a bakeneko would kill its owner or whoever had raised the creature beforehand. Like the kitsune we spoke of before, bakeneko could possess humans, making them act like a cat, yet they had darker powers. One of the two most feared abilities of these feline fiends were the ability to raise and control the dead and manipulate humans into doing things they otherwise wouldn't. Both gave them full control over the bodies, making for some frightening situations.

If you suspect a cat may be a bakeneko, there are ways to tell. Bakeneko from time to time dance around whilst wearing a towel upon their head, they may also speak your language, along with licking up oil. Though bakeneko will always have a long tail, if a cat has no tail or a short one, it is not a bakeneko and cannot become one.

  7. Name: Jotun
    Myths: Germanic
Description: The Jotun are a race of giants who have quite the affinity for ice. Hailing from the realm of Jotunheimr, they are enemies of the Aesir and Vanir, the original godly beings of Europe. Though the Jotun are enemies of the Aesir, they have intermarried and some are even parents to the gods making for a peculiar relationship. Jotun are quite large, as they are giants. Some are quite ugly and downright disturbing in their visage.

Jotun have proven to be both dangerous and benevolent in history, this makes it quite difficult to tell you whether to fear these creatures. I do suggest you stay away from them, as they are unpredictable in what they will do to you. As for the benevolent Jotun, there are some who can easily be called gods and goddesses, such as Skaoi, goddess of skiing and winter for the ancient Norse.

There also lies another species of Jotun, the exact opposite of the frost giants. These Jotun are named the Jotnar, they reside in Muspelhiem, a world of fire. They wait until Ragnarok, which I truly thought would've happened some years ago, once it does come whenever that is, they will rain fire upon the world. That of course, is only one of the things you should fear about Ragnarok.

  8. I guess many of you expected page 14 to be coming instead of this, but I have news. I would first off like to thank those who have encouraged the continuous writing of this project and the support you've all shown.

Also something I've been contemplating is to see if any of you would want to do art for the guide. This wouldn't be easy, as I want to upmost excellence of quality art, if you think you're up to it, PM Shadow and I'll look it over. It's very likely you'll be denied.

Second off I would like to ask what creatures you would like to see. Tell me what you want and I'll see what I can do. For now that is it. You can expect a new page this Tuesday.

  10. Name: Griffin
    Myths: Greek
Description: The griffin, King of the Beasts, with the head and wings of an eagle and the body of a lion, it can be a ferocious and dangerous creature. Though it had a ferocious appearance, it truly only posed a danger to trespassers and thieves due to of its role.

Griffins protect treasures from those who would seek to take them. Most would run away I suspect, if they didn't... well I'd rather not tell you what would happen. Even if they did pose such a threat to mean spirited men, griffins were very wise like us dragons. They also had the utmost important job of pulling one of Helion’s god's chariots across the sky, that was only a select few of course.

Griffins are likely the most respected creatures by you humans, as they do demand it. Many of you throughout history have used the griffin's visage as a symbol of courage, bravery, wisdom, power, and less desirably, war. Many human kings in my land, treated the griffin with the respect it deserved, all the while they killed us. It's sad, but not everyone can have such respect as the King of Beasts did.

  11. Name: The Wild Hunt
    Myths: European
Description: The Wild Hunt, not a single creature, but rather a whole host of creatures. They are spirits of those who have died, these spirits being led by a nameless god. Their presence brought war or blessings, none the less no matter what they brought they always looked hideous. They were tall, with black dogs and horses and their eyes, their eyes I shall never forget, large and piercing.

Not much is known about these creatures, except that they are harbingers of terror and appear around this time of yule, for when the final ember darkens, they shall be heard. I once had an experience with these creatures on the 21st of December, 300 years ago, so let me tell you my story.

This used to be my favorite time to go enjoy my time with you humans in the form of an illusion spell, there was much partying to be had, you made fine ales back then. I don't bother with it as much as I did after a group of you changed it. Now around the point at which the moon is at its highest, I decided to head home as I was a little tipsy, when I heard hounds baying and hooves hitting a solid surface. I looked around, seeing nothing, until a peculiar figure approached me from the woods near the path. He had a dark hound and rode a black horse, he stared me down, dread tearing me apart for the second time in my life, I ran or rather flew for my life, yet I knew very well that it couldn’t hurt me.

Later I returned to that putrid forest, it still has a sense of eeriness and despair. No festivity could brighten its paths. No man could light its darkness.

  12. Name: Golem
    Myths: Jewish
Description: The golem is a man-made creature of clay and mud. They are animated and brought to life by men who call themselves rabbi, who to my knowledge follow a faith called Judaism. As you would expect from a man made of clay, they look to be made of clay. The most defining feature is that they are shaped as men, very large and intimidating ones to be correct.

Golems aren't much of a danger to most people, as the rabbi will tell the golem who is friend and who is foe. If you happen to be foe, then I'm sorry to inform you that you are going to have a difficult time defeating the golem. There have been a few times where golems have gone rouge, so beware.

Golems themselves are created when a Rabbi forges its body then inscribes sacred words onto it. These words, to my knowledge are said to be words of life, first said by Gailana. I don’t know how they came into knowing these mystical words of power, yet it worries me what else you humans may know.

  16. A Brief History of Magic and Humans

Magic was originally taught to humans by various flights of dragons, as we took pity upon them. You were very disappointing in your early years. These first magi become leaders among their clans for their amazing abilities and almost draconic level of intelligence and from this golden age of magic, came many discoveries for your race, such as fire.

In your later years, around the times your race refers to as the medieval ages, magic became widespread, yet still used by few. It was now we realized we'd made a grave mistake, magi turned their magic into a weapon. Dragons started dying around this time. Much of this must do with the magi teaching the dragon slayers how to kill us. We decided to take hostile action against these mages, killing massive amounts of them, eventually leading to a major loss of magic upon humans, few did live and they carry on teaching.

Today magic is almost non-existent, though many of you claim to possess powers as the old magi used to own. Becoming apprentice to a mage is very unlikely, they only keep it in the family now, fearful that they will be wiped out completely.

  17. Magic and Its Various Classes

There are various types of magic, these classes are the magic that we taught your race. There are many more types, yet we keep that power too ourselves.

Necromancy: Necromancy is a more forbidden type of magic, yet we deemed it safe to teach. It gives those who wield it the power of life and death itself. Much of the magic must do with the use of bones as weapons, raising of the dead, manipulation of the human body and speaking with the dead. This made Necromancers very dangerous and many were corrupted by its power, though some are quite helpful, such as a group of necromancers who called themselves mediums.

Elementilism: Elementalists are masters of the elements, those being fire, earth, wind and water. It was one of the first types of magic we taught to the humans. Some of these Elementalists were powerful enough to control the four elements in all their forms, while some pursued a more specific element. This led to the creation of groups of Elementalists such as Pyromancers, those who had total mastery over fire.

Divination: Divination is the art of communing with the Earth Mother herself. This was likely the most and least impressive type of magic, as it had no offensive capabilities or defensive. What it did allow was the ability to predict the future, allowing many Diviners to be wise leaders of their community. Many Diviners are well known figures from ancient times, such as the Oracle of Delphi.

Spellweaving: I myself practice this art, it's very rewarding to master. Spellweaving allows its user to create new spells of arcane origins, it's how I'm able to use my illusion spell. The strongest Spellweavers can create grand spells called "world weaves", which can change the physical world, while more novice users can create simple spells to make everyday life easier.

Healing: More commonly known as "white" magic, Healers, as the name states, can heal any wound inflicted upon a living creature. This type of magic can be very draining to its user, sometimes even killing them if the wound they're attempting to heal is too grave.

    Forbidden Magic

Sauguimancy: A very corrupt and evil magic that was only given to humans by mistake as an equally corrupt dragon taught it. Sauguimancers are very dangerous as Sauguimancy allows them to sacrifice their own life force to harm others. They may also extend their life by stealing it from others. The most powerful of these corrupt mages can become a lich, a skeletal mage that can never truly die, lest its phylactery is destroyed. Very few of these vile men still live.

Chronomancy: The manipulation of time itself and only ever known by a single man. He learned how to control time from a powerful group of dragons who did the same. He had to torture and kill a few first. This Chronomancer could change all of history and live forever once he became an adept, even when just a novice he could rewind and edit his own timeline. Soon this man tried to change time, so he controlled the world, he was soon killed by a simple thief of all things. Since then this magic has been lost, only known by the few dragons who've become masters of it.

There are various other types of magic, very few others, yet I feel they deserve to have their history told separately from these.

  18. Everytime I hear or see the word "Chrono" I always have to say this, even to the people who already know this xD

Chrono is the word for Time. If you think back to Greek Mythology there was the titan Chronos who could control time its self. Thats all im gonna say cause I dont wanna ramble :p
  19. His name was Chronos to be correct.

  20. Name: Moirai
    Myths: Greek
Description: The Moirai or as most of you know them, the Fates are a group of three women who work a mystical spindle that can end the life of anyone. Their names were Clotho, who spun the wheel, Lanchesis the allotter and Atropos, who cut the thread of life.

These fates spun, divided and cut every man and god's thread, which in turned decided how long they would live. This made them extremely dangerous, though they would only decide your fate not cause it prematurely. Many have tried to defy the fates but they've always failed to do so, fate can't be stopped by any mortal or lesser god. Only the 3 founders of this world are exempt from this, for now that is. Soon everything must end.

Your fate is decided upon your 3rd day of your life. Your thread is measured, intertwined and spun. These actions by the fates decide what will happen to you over your whole life and when you shall die. For those who have tried to defy fight, they typically cause it to simply come faster. Not even I can escape fate, yet I must deal with a maiden of fate much direr.
