Hi gang! We all know about the auctions on this forum, right? If not (for the newer players) then I think you should definitely check them out, see this forum. It can be an exciting way to buy items or to sell them (if you want to sell items then be sure to read the rules first though!). Now, as some of you know I really like going over the auctions from time to time. Sometimes I try to help out, sometimes I simply like watching people "goof around" a little bit and sometimes I hold my own auctions or bid on others. And sometimes an auction can be really exciting or maybe even a bit funny. So why not share it with us? Are there auctions which you were REALLY happy about winning? Why was that and, what did you do with the items (maybe you build something and can share a nice picture?). Or perhaps you sold things and got a bid which made you go WHOAH! ? So there are two I'd like to share... First is when I auctioned smooth & chiseled sandstone. What do you know? Another player had the same idea as I did, and also started one for the same items. However, he didn't realize that my auction was also running. No harm done of course. In fact: I even ended up advertising for his auction on mine, because I really wanted for him to get something good out of it as well. Second... One of the things I really like in Minecraft are train tracks. I really enjoy how you can use redstone to control all sort of things there, I think many players heavily underestimate them. So when I saw an auction which sold 1DC of every sort of track available (regular, powered, detector and activator) plus 1DC of carts I didn't have to think hard: those were mine! So the funny thing is that Aya (who obviously knew about this auction and my plans for it) wondered "so how is shell going to power all that?". She noticed a "redstone mania" auction which sold every ingredient you might want to craft redstone items (redstone & quartz ore, iron ingots, stone and planks). The fun thing is that we both won our auction. And all items are going to be used on my Utopia event res. for both our upcoming (but way overdue) anniversary celebration event So yeah, do you got fun stories to share?
I have plenty of funny stories to share (most may or may not involve TomvanWijnen ) I just need to find the auctions back Here's one. When you thought you won (auction ended at 4PM) Tom was very nice though and gave me 1DC of the melons. Thanks again for that
Oooooh, I have one. Once, I forgot about an auction I bid on for three months... and let's just say that didn't go too well.
It's interesting to spectate on auctions that Tom's bidding on... he'll usually try to do something fun with the bids. Sometimes trying to lead somebody else to accidentally post an invalid bid...
Well once I won an auction for a DC of Paper xD I didnt even need the paper I just started bidding for no reason. Anyways on my res in my house under the stairs to my storage there is free paper if anyone needs it! xD
