None of these are my favourite songs ^ See my favourite songs currently in a post below!

I Enjoy Listening To Calming Music when I Meditate. Other wise I listen to music/songs on my free time when im on my laptop or doing homework. When do you listen to songs/music??

I usually dont listen to songs as much as listening to soundtracks to movies/shows like Spirit, How To Train Your Dragon, Avatar the last airbender, and The Legend of Korra.

Also if your an Avatar The Last Airbender fan watch this but play Heathens when it gets to the part when Azula says "im sorry it had to end like this". It was so emotional XD I <3 Zuko btw. I have watched Avatar the last airbender all season x10. I once bench watched the whole thing, I forgot how long it took me to finish it :p https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGTTVw2YKYU

EDIT: My favourite song is Merry Go Round by YOHIO

  2. 2016: (newer post down below)

This is about my favourite song

but, I do also love this kind of music :)
  3. When I think of favorites I think about things that mean a lot to me and often they have stories with them. I'm gonna sound like such a mushy country music lover here, but here goes:

    • Garth Brooks - The Red Strokes
      • This one I don't really have a story for, it's just a really great love analogy song that I've always loved since first hearing it. One of Garth's less known songs for sure, though I pretty much love them all.
    • Aaron Watson - Fast Cars, Slow Kisses
      • Moose and I met on Match.com so it's very close to our story. Just a feel-good two-steppin song that makes me wanna throw on my boots and go to the nearest dance hall.
    • The Wreckers - Leave the Pieces
      • Call it my divorce repeat record if you will. When my dad and stepmom divorced in 9th(?) grade, it hit me really hard. I think I had this on repeat any time I felt like screaming and it helped. Even to this day, when hearing this song, it brings back that feeling of abandonment that I felt regardless of hatred I had for the 'unique' situation. It also reminds me of how much stronger I am as a result.
    • Thomas Rhett - Vacation
      • This is my escape song. I can almost taste the salt in the ocean if I close my eyes and just dance it out to this song. It's also my partying and get hyped song as of lately.
    • John Legend - All of Me
      • Moose and I's first dance song. It took a LONG time to agree on one and it's definitely THE one.
    • RaeLynn - Love Triangle
      • My dad and mom got divorced when I was really young (2-3). I grew up with the 'every other weekend and 6 weeks of summer schedule' like many child custody agreements. I'm older and I understand now that my situation is different for some reasons, but this song resonates how I felt growing up, even including the year that the artist uses in the bridge.

I'm sure that there are more, but I'll cut this list off here and go listen to these songs instead...
  4. Nice thread. Here are a couple of mine.

  6. Nirvana
    • Smells like teen spirit
    • Lake of Fire ( Unplugged album )
    • Plateau ( Unplugged Album )
    • Opinions ( Lights Out )
    The Monkees
    • Stepping Stone
    • Mary Mary
    • Last Train to Clarksville
    • The Monkees theme
A ton of other bands but I don't feel like listing everything....That would take forever and a day to list.

My iTunes account has about 10,000 songs on it. 95 percent of those songs came from renting CD's at the library. I love music and I'm never without a decent playlist.

  7. Hm...
I like a lot of music, but I mostly listen to video game music.
Some things I like from quite different genres:

From a Flemish/Dutch girl group aimed at children and kids.

From Simcity 3000, a game with an amazing soundtrack with different genres.

From Synthesizer Greatest, an album with songs from many different artists, covered by Ed Starink.

From Donkey Kong Country 2, composed by David Wise.

    That's just a few!
But I figured I shouldn't list more, or else there's no chance anyone will be bothered to actually check them out anyway :p

I think this thread is in the wrong section, by the way, it shouldn't be in Empire Creativity as that's for self-created stuff.

  8. I had to think long and hard. My favorite... is actually a little controversial.

    Land of confusion - Genesis

The controversy goes towards left/right centered politics (obviously). The video clip is fully based on 'Spitting Image', a British satirical puppet show which would often mock celebrities, politicians, and basically the whole stuff going on around the 80's - 90's.

This video clip is based on it.

When it came out, around 1985, I wasn't really much of a fan to be honest. I liked the music, not the message it was trying to deliver.

Now, 30 years later, I think this has become a timeless classic with a message which I fear will never become obsolete, as sad as this may sound.

Ask yourself this: what exactly has changed over the years? I would like to quote 2 parts of the lyrics:

    And:
    Timeless I think.

Those who ignore history are bound to repeat it....

  10. My favourite song is, if I had to choose one, 'Somebody Else' by The 1975.

Honourable mentions include 'Why'd you Only Call me When You're High?' and 'Electricity' by the Arctic Monkeys, 'UGH!' and 'Fallingforyou' by The 1975, and 'Money, Power, Glory' by Lana Del Rey.

My favourite songs from the 80s (I put this on its own pedestal because most of it is just so above what we get today) is probably '99 Luftballons' (the German version) by Nena or 'We Didn't Start the Fire' by Billy Joel. I mostly like them because they give me some insight into how culture was affected by the Cold War - I was born into a world recovering from it (pretty much the only thing related to the Cold War I've lived through is the breakup of FR Jugoslavija/Yugoslavia) and thus never experienced the 'one day we'll all die in atomic fire, lol' thought process my parents experienced as children. It fascinates me how a lot of the music from this period was straight up social and political commentary - and it was popular.

  12. I completely forgot this thread exists since I made it like 2 years ago >_< Just for future reference try not to 'bump' old threads like this.
Anyways the songs I liked like 2 years ago I now hate rofl besides Heathens and No No No by Apink.
  13. I'm pretty much always listening to music when I'm at home, and there are a lot of really good songs I can choose from. I don't really have a reason why some of these are my favorites, they're just pretty good :p
