I'm not seeing it. I am not following them. They are following me. At the top of their page where it says follow it has the place for me to click to follow them and under it says "person is following you".
Or you can can click on their profile pic in any post and click unfollow from there. It's about in the middle of info.

Have you simple asked them? Send them a PM stating your reason be polite and if you have sufficient reason I'm sure staff can help. Just my thoughts without knowing the reason.
They haven't been on in nearly a year. It isn't a big deal. I don't want to drag irl drama onto here I just didn't want to see their username or avatar when I went to my profile if I didn't have to. Thanks for all the help though.
Just be subtly annoying around them until they no longer want to follow you. You know, be kinda gross, say weirdly uncomfortable things, etc. Then you don't have to feel the guilt of breaking up with them. Uhh, I mean.. yeah, that polite thing people said... Do that.

Welcome back! You could try starting a thread with Krysyy (community manager), she is pretty reasonable.
No way for us regular users, maybe an admin (like Krysyy) can help (ninja'd) but... considering your profile it seems you're already followed by a small army so it might have turned into a moot point
Hm, that is an interesting question. No, I don't think it would be possible here, without logging in to the other user's account. I hope it isn't too much of a problem.
