  1. HI,
I like to establish and outpost on smp3. I'm calling it Avalon. I have a locked chest at my base.

    Thanks
  2. Yeah I have locked chests in several locations
The coordinates are ... EDIT: removed

    Thanks
  3. not smart. You just invited griefers to your base.

  4. I'm building a city so anyone that can use the live map would be able to find it. The live map takes away any anonymity of anything built above ground. All a griefer has to do is pull up the map and take his pick.
  5. Momentus is still out there

  7. Uh momentus is still out there! He killed me sending me back to my secret momentus spot
  8. Hi

I see some threads marked (claim) and some [Established]. What's the difference?

    Thanks
  9. Hi um, quick question is there any fast way of getting to that place its quite far (eg. portal, shaft or tp)?
  10. Lol, I'm with Duperia and me and my friend killed Momentus yesterday :)
  11. I'm not recruiting right now. I want to get the streets and boundaries laid out before I start inviting builders/residents. My idea is for a kingdom (Avalon proper) ruled by me and 3 Duchies ruled by Dukes and loosely overseen by myself. In other words, a monarchy.

I had this idea when I read about the Dragon Tombs. From what I've read, you going to need a group of people to run these. If the king and 3 dukes all have 5 knights, that's a pretty sizable group. Even given the fact that everyone won't be on at the same time, we should be able to run tombs on a regular basis. Of course it will all depend on whether people will have an interest in this kind of setup.

Right now it's the boring work of leveling the land, laying streets and marking boundaries. Once this is done I'll make another post advertising for settlers/builders.
  12. Could I join this settlement?
  13. I have to make sure it's approved first. I uncovered most of the map out here so hopefully there won't be a problem.
  14. actually u can just build a giant patch of land in the sky with trees or other stuff to match the outskirts of nothing of your base so it can seem like a regular biome and noone can see the base
  15. That's true, but if someone is looking at the livemap with the intent of finding something to grief, you can still see where this has been done. I've noticed several of these in the Frontier. They actually stick out like a sore thumb if you are looking at the "Surface" 3d-ish, rather than "flat" version of the map.

I can't say I'm fond of giant floating islands of dirt in the sky either. They create giant shadows beneath them (not too big a deal if you are lighting things up well anyway), but I just find them generally unappealing to look at. I'm sure there are ways you could make them look nice, like sprucing them up with light blue wool on the underside or something else creative. That's a lot of work though!

  16. Yeah I agree with you Mead. I play Minecraft because I enjoy building. If I get griefed the griefer will get banned and I'll just rebuild. To me, it's not the end of the world.
  17. So many kingdoms...
  18. Location confirmed, a record has been made of your claim to that piece of land. Congratulations!

Would you like the thread locked or left open?
