[Event] EMC Fall Parkour Contest

Hey everyone! I thought recently that hopefully, sometime in the future, I could get well involved with something that the whole Empire community will enjoy. If anyone has not figured this out about me as well, I am a HUGE fan of anything racing. These two thoughts pooped up in my head one day and a parkour tournament was the best thing I could think of to suit these two things that I want to sort of accomplish, just for fun. This tournament is not your regular tournament, but this is a cool idea and ultimate parkour-ers should love this. Here's how it works:
There are two races, or "motos", in the tournament. Between two races, competitors race for the best overall score at the end of both motos. Your score is determined by the number of points you accumulate in each moto, and Olympic-style scoring will be used (Ex.-1st gets 1 point, 2nd gets 2 points, so on). So, the objective is to have the lowest number of points in each of the two races, consistent enough to have a good shot at the overall win.

Next thing people need to know about this is when and where this will happen: This is planned to happen somewhere around mid-October, probably Saturday the 19th (I know the poll's messed up, that was the first planned date). I know that is a long way's into the future, but I am fairly certain I will be lounging about the house on one of those days with nothing to special to do. The time will probably be Noon EST on the date that will be chosen later. It will take place on res 3794 on Smp2, and I will have a special tp set up for it there. No one will be allowed to practice on the course until race day. After the event, which will hopefully only take an hour long, a drop party will be held, too.

Prizes and Donations: The # of competitors that could win a prize will vary from 2-4, depending how the results work out. All 4 possible prizes will be collected, but 1st and 2nd place overall will win the "grand" prizes, which will be a Stable Voucher and 5k. 1st place gets to pick which one, 2nd is given what is not chosen by the winner. The possibility of 4 winners getting a prize though is possible. Each moto winner, whether they end up a grand prize winner overall or not, will receive 15 diamonds just by winning the moto. So, you can have a horrible 1st moto, which will probably take you out of overall contention, but still get a nice prize of 15 diamonds if you win the second moto. The only things handed out will not just be from the contest, though. The drop party immediately afterwards will include my head , some random stuff, and hopefully some really cool stuff, but I need some donation help towards it. I will set up a plaque of all the members who help me out with this, and I think this can be one of the most-talked about Empire events this year. This is incorrect, what I meant to say is that you can basically go out of overall contention by having a bad first moto, but in the second moto win the moto, giving a prize of 15 diamonds in your name when you leave.

Parkour is currently being built now at my res 3794 on Smp2. About 2/3 of it completed, but if anyone wants a sneak peak at the course, here's your chance 2 months ahead of time.

I don't see why we can't practice on the course. Just like the Olympics, you have time to practice all the events and such. I think we should be allowed to practice on the course so we are properly prepared. It doesn't give any advantage either, because if you let us train on it everybody has an opportunity to do so. If people don't train when you let them then that's their fault they aren't prepared.

Just my thoughts

Well, I've been trying to make it different from the aspect that when you take two motos when no one has ran the course yet, it makes sense that the second one would go faster than the first one, right? I'm trying to make the competitors have to adapt to the demands of each moto's situation quickly. There will be times that I'll leave it open though, whether it's an accident or not, so you'll have plenty of practicing time before race day in the end.

More news everyone, and it's all good! A, the course is completed, and it will be open for this week. B, I realized that this can happen much sooner than I thought as long as I get my shop done in the near future, so now the event is now being bumped up to either the Friday or Saturday in the third week of October instead. Which one of these days is best for the event?

Update #2: Course is like 99% done, and if you haven't noticed yet, it's open for this weekend for free practice by anyone. Also, there is a new date for the event, which is a month ahead of what I initially planned, the new date is now October 19!
