Empire Minecraft Horse Racing at 1903/1904 Since before 1.6 was released for EMC, I have been developing a Horse Track for EMC. It is finally complete and ready to be used. A special shout-out and recognition goes to ShaunWhite1982 for helping to design and build many parts of the Horse Track. Weekly Races Races are planned to be held once a week, preferably the same day of the week, every week. These will consist of small races, each with 4 horses. There is NO entry fee for weekly races. Racetrack The racetrack being used for these races is located at the double residence of 1903 and 1904 on SMP1. Entering a Race In order to be eligible for a race, you will need to sign up by using the form below. You will then be added to a specific date and will be notified of when you will be racing. First come first serve will be in effect, so if there are already 4 players registered for the current weekly race, then you will be signed up for the following week. Each player is also limited to racing in only one race per month (not including the Empire Derby), in order to give everyone a chance to compete. Empire Derby One player from each EMC server will compete for the glory of the Empire Cup each month. Once a month (each date will be announced on the 1st of the month), the Empire Derby will be held. This will consist of two heats, and one final race. Everyone and anyone wishing to compete in the Empire Derby will be asked to submit a form to race. The player that represents his or her server will then be chosen at random. The three heat races will consist of 3 horses. The winner of each race will then go on to the compete in the Final Race. The winner of the Final Race will then be crowned Champion of the Empire Derby. Betting and Odds The odds for each horse and the player riding the horse will be based solely on the Speed and Jump attributes of the horse. This means that the higher the Speed and Jump stats of the horse, the higher odds the Horse is to win, so the lower the return rate for betting will be. If you are to bet on a horse, you will only win if the horse wins. This means that there will be no winnings if the horse you bet on comes in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place. Odds for each horse will be announced one day prior to the race. Please note: You are not guaranteed to win when placing bets on horses. Prizes For weekly races, a cash prize of 3,000r will be awarded to the winner. The winner of the Empire Derby will receive a prize of 10,000r, the Empire Cup for his or her server for the month, and all the glory of winning the Empire Derby. Dates of the Races To be announced. The Empire Derby date will be announced on the 1st of the each month. Weekly races will be announced soon. Specific Rules Leaving the Horse Track via jumping over the Hedges during a race will result in disqualification. Any spectators who are caught disrupting or disturbing a race in any way will be permanently banned from the Horse Track and future races. /promo Horses ARE NOT allowed to be used during races. All horses must be uniquely bred. However, horses bred from /promo horses ARE allowed. Update: October 21st, 2013 Introduction Seeing as this thread has really been in-active for the better part of two months, I want to say that I am going to try and actually set up a horse race "circuit" type thing. However, I have no promises for having weekly races every week and even having an "Empire Cup." As of now, I am just going to play it by year and see how it goes. If the interest is high, and there are a lot of requests/submissions for races, then yes, it is a possibility that there will be weekly racing (or at least an attempt at it). Entries In terms of entries, I'm just going to completely wipe all of the old entries for older races, seeing as it would not be fair or liable for me to hold those people accountable for racing due to lack of interest, no longer having possession of the specific horse, etc. All new entries can be submitted as of now via this thread. Like I said before, the occurrences of "official" races will be based on the number of entries, so if I only get one or two entries in the next 4-5 days, sorry to say, but there probably won't be any races anytime soon. The same rules do still apply in terms of applying and being accepted to a race. The Races These races are meant to be fun, as well as a possible way of making a little money. If you do happen to have a very OP horse, and we do happen to have a lot of submissions of entries for races, there's a high possibility that there will be limitations on the number of races you may attend during a certain time frame. Betting Betting will not be implemented yet, until I have a good method of coming up with odds for players and making it fair in as many ways possible. Have Fun! If you want to check out the track, feel free to do whatever it is you want at 1903/1904, whether it be test runs, hosting mini races with your friends, etc. I have planned, built, and set up this track for the enjoyment and entertainment of all players.
