Hi Guys, I don't know if something like this exists in the archives somewhere, but I thought it would be nice to share our furry friends with one another. I have a somewhat selfish motive, because I absolutely LOVE animals! I have shared her on another thread but I will do so again just to get things started. This is Seven. That is short for "Seven Finger Death Punch of the Apocalypse." I cannot take credit for naming her, that was my husband. She is named as such not only because it is hilarious and awesome, but because she has a genetic mutation known as Polydactyly. To put in English terms, she has extra toes on all of her paws. She has seven in total on each of her front feet and six on each of her back feet. It looks like a really big "thumb" that you may be able to see in the picture here. She is otherwise normal, healthy, and happy, (crazy!) it just causes her to walk a little differntly than your average cat and she is able to grip things surprisingly well. Plus, I happen to believe that she is good luck.
I had a German Shepherd growing up as a kid. We had a few actually but one in particular was *my* dog. We had a few cats as well throughout my childhood. Now, I'm not opposed to cats but mostly they just shed a lot, don't pay attention to anyone and act like jerks. But I often find myself jealous of people posting cat pics on the internet and wish I had a cat to post funny pics of. I don't suppose anyone knows of any sort of Rent-a-Cat type business where you can say, rent one for an hour, draw circles around it, put a box on its head, things like that and then return it back to the store? Oh and just in keeping with the thread, here's a pic of My dog, the best friend and most loyal dog a kid could ever have. He's in Valhalla now.
she is good luck. Most Americans believe that their bad luck. But I disagree. they also say that a birthday on the thirteenth of a month is unlucky. My birthday is on december 13th. I am unusually lucky. So phooey on them.
Meet Lola. Grew up with me, since I was a baby and she was a kitty, always there. 17 years old, over-active thyroid and liver cancer but still ready to attack you if you come and invade her territory. Quite the cat I'd say, I'm so glad that she's still with us, but I'm going to miss her when she's gone.
It's true that the fact that she is a black cat has that whole superstition going against her. But I've read that Polydactyl cats are traditionally considered lucky, and I think the fact that she has seven toes is lucky as well ^_^ So many being doubly lucky cancels out any bad luck she may have? BTW, you all have adorable pets! And one cute nephew, I must say
All gorgeous and adorable! Can't wait to see more pics. Maybe I'll post a pic of my dog at some point.
FDNY21: You what...? (it's your signature) it says; "everybody point and laugh at FDNY!" so i did point and laugh at FDNY.
