To be blunt, yes. I for one think emotions are very powerful and can make someone do stupid things, i myself am a sucker for my emotions and often fall fast and hard into things. :)

Yes. Our emotional brain gets priority over our logical brain. Imagine a nervous boy trying to ask a girl out and all he can say is "umm hi...", our emotions can shut down logical thought. Usually this only happens when emotions are super high though. It's often a good idea to wait a day or two when making big decisions, just to let your emotions calm down a bit.

Thank-you for your feedback. I've been concerned how strong my emotions get and try to stop them. I can definitely say negative emotions can prioritize logical thinking. But what about the positive emotions, like excitement? Can too much happiness interfere with logical thinking too?

I do believe the positive emotions can also have a great effect on decision making. It often blinds you to the truth, hence making illogical decisions.

Your emotions also act like a filter for your thoughts. If you feel good, your mind opens the filing cabinet to similar good feeling memories. If you feel bad, you'll tend to think of more bad memories. So, if you fall in love and feel really good, it's hard to remember you got hurt last time or to imagine negative things. ...

In general, feeling good, will help you see more positive solutions to your challenges in life, it's just good to understand you're human and your emotions do effect you're decisions though. Sometimes it's good to run decisions by your close friends or a family member you trust if you're emotions are real high, or real low.

Thank-you! I try to stay constantly emotionally neutral. This could be the cause of me taking on the opinions of other people rather than me own and black-and-white thinking. I also notice a lot of people don't seem to be mentally hurt for long from hearing/reading different opinions.
