I really don't have much interest in it, and for quite a few reasons, too. I don't like that Batman Beyond is going to be canon in it. Not that I have much interest in anything DC does now - I only get Batman - but that bothers me.
Also, I don't know if you've seen, but this is going to be a full priced comic. Does DC not understand that weekly books shouldn't be 2.99 like the others? This whole weekly thing just seems like DC trying to recreate 52, but that just isn't going to happen. I really wish DC would give me a reason to buy more of their books.
Yeah, my thoughts as well. I'm a bit curious at least in the sense of how they're going to tie together the New 52 after Flashpoint's claim of a new threat, but it's not like I'll be buying these. Thankfully my library gets comics…
New 52 canon is just so screwed at this point, and that is very disappointing. They had a chance to do something amazing and just threw it away. Not that things can't be changed, of course, but I see DC taking no action to change things for the better.
Well, after reading the free comic, Futures End is really a disappointment. There's Superman evil and arm cutting, if you haven't read it. I wish more series were like Zero Year…but it seems like everything is just dark, unlike crafting good stories.
After reading the first couple of issues of Batman: Eternal, I can tell you that it is just terrible as well. I don't really have a problem with dark, but DC has terrible creators. Most of my pull list is from Image. I get one comic each from DC, Marvel, and Vertigo. The only things that DC is going to put out that excites me is Multiversity and Morrison's Wonder Woman: Earth One thing.
Don't bother starting it. I think that the biggest problem is that there are too many writers trying to tell a single story, and DC higher-ups are making the decisions about what happens. With 52 every writer basically had his own plot to write, so they weren't interfering with each other, and that is why it worked. Also, the story that they are trying to tell in Eternal is just bad.
So pull list is: Batman, Iron Fist: The Living Weapon, The Wake, Morning Glories, Bedlam, Deadly Class, Drumhellar, Saga, Sheltered, and Zero. I don't think that I am forgetting anything.
I wanted to check out Southern Bastards, but my store only got in 6 copies.
Let me try anyway though. Sandman: Overture, FPB, American Vampire, Winter Solider: A Bitter March, The Royals: Masters of War, East of West, Revival, Fatale, The Manhattan Projects, Chew, and probably more stuff I am forgetting.
Also, there are some things that I read trades of like The Walking Dead and Fables. Plus there are just a bunch or random graphic novels and collections of older series that I read. Like I just got done reading Fear Agent, which is really good.
Oh gosh, I'm not really sure how to explain how amazing it really is. Basically it follows a human bounty hunter in space, who is the last Fear Agent. The Fear Agents were formed during the alien invasion of Earth. The ending is what makes the comic. The art may seem a bit cartoony, but this is a really heavy, depressing comic. And I totally didn't tear up at the ending.
Yeah, I've heard Saga was really good. My friend read it recently and has been trying to get a copy again so I can read it.
Hm, Fear Agent seems interesting. I'll have to try to find a way to read it.
How can I unwatch this status? >.> I got like 15 alerts saying you guys commented. Also, I haven't read Saga yet but I don't like the art from what I've seen.
I think it was manhattan projects then because I remember looking at both in the comic book store and all i can remember is ugly creatures in something like spacesuits and ugly bright colours :P
