To be truly representative, you need proportional representation. Does Britain have that? Nope. We're using a 300 year old system built for two parties, when there can be hundreds of political parties running to be in office >.>
The US uses a system that enables the same damn problem.I mean, jf anything, I'm glad we don't have something similar to the House of Lords, but it isn't like Senators struggle to hold their seats for as long as they want...
I want Jeremy Corbyn to win the Labour leadership election and I want Labour to win the 2020 General Election. He wants to reform the House of Lords and House of Commons (as do the Liberal Democrats, but their popularity has severely waned because of their coalition government with the Tories) <3
He also wants to put Tony Blair, a previous Labour leader, on trial for war crimes, along with George Bush lel.
I haven't payed too much attention to Britsh politics (America privilege), but my hope for 2016 is to hopefully get Sanders into office for major educational and economic reform, or barring that just any democrat. We have the framework of socialized healthcare now, and I don't want to see it go anywhere.
I want Sanders to win your Presidential election too, and I want him to serve two full terms. Him and Jeremy will get along well (from what I can tell, Bernie is very socialist, right? Corbyn wants the UK to adopt the full socialist package), and I don't see British politicians wanting to do away with the UK's and the US' 'special' relationship.
