  1. On the flip side of that, we like to have a giant dig /mining destruction on the weekend before. Running events and having a wastelands reset aren't easy to coordinate together. In the past it was Wednesdays, but the last time we did a Monday and it works better scheduling wise.

  2. yay my first reset I hate the one right now...
  3. Not gonna lie, this is what I think about every reset. All the dogs, cats, and horses that get stranded out there and abandoned for the reset XD

  4. They won't feel a thing. It will be over in seconds and they will be in a better place.

  5. I like to think they are moved into the new world, where everything is fresh and new ;)
Sort of like a relocation program..
  6. Karyuubi, there is a Mesa on SMP3 now if you need it. It's in the NE corner.
  7. Yay!! New mats! Somewhere else for the 'creative' citizens of EMC to wreck! X'D

  8. Oh, so EMC is updating to 1.9 as soon as it releases?

That's great. Means we can have a good old "HOW DO WE DEAL WITH THE NEW END STUFF" discussion.

  9. Not as soon as it releases. But it won't be long after and we always reset the wastelands with an update, so it postpones that. Turns out Spigot is on top of things =)
  10. I don't want to be a negative Nancy but aren't a lot of bugs identified after an update? Is it prudent to update EMC so quickly? I would give it at least a couple months. In which case I would go ahead and do the reset now and the update to 1.9 for the next reset.
  11. I can't wait for the 1.9 update as well as the reset! :p

  12. This is always thought of, EMC never updates until a good testing phase has been in place, and any bugs thereafter are handled fairly quickly.
  13. We wait until the cries of early adopters die down and ensure no known game stopping bug is pending, then we do our own testing (and fixing) then release.

but were expecting this to be a much smoother ride this time.

1.8 rewrote the core so it was special. 1.9 isn't looking that scary.
  14. Was curious, does a full on game update like this affect EMCs custom coding for stuff like empires, land claiming, etc.? By that I mean, would anything already done have to be reconfigured/re-coded because a new update is here?

  16. Probably not, because as Aikar said, the main core is still the same. I'm not saying that things won't change with those updates, but it shouldn't cause any major setbacks :)
  17. Oh ok. So 1.8 was core + add-ons and 1.9 is pretty add-ons only.
  18. From what I've heard, that's what it sounds like. 1.8 was a mess, a big re-write, but 1.9 keeps the same sort of thing and just adds to it I believe, yes (with a lot of emphasis on combat updates) :)

  19. Aww shoooooot
This means that I am going to have to finish the Nether rail to my frontier island very quickly and build a supply of notch apples. D: Not that I dislike 1.9 or anything but.... Boats. Boats, ew.
