To an untrained eye, this is general SMP8 goofiness. To the experienced turkey hunter, this is the inevitable plague of madness and desperation that follows hours of luckless Turkey hunting, often resulting in a really awkward encounter when you finally scream "I WILL MAUL YOU!!!!" in the Frontier without realizing that yes, there is somebody in Local Chat range.

Well, I was hunting Super Turkeys (or maybe Blizz Ards, but either way, it's the same story with slightly different details) and I was starting to get frustrated. So, like all good turkey hunters, I started talking to the my would-be prey. "Heeeere, turkeys!" "Come to Hashy!" "Gobble gobble! Gobble gobble!" I was bored enough that my chat quickly grew more interesting... "Come! Your death will be quick!" "Be mine! Come to me, my delicacies!" "Whhhyyyy!? Why won't you listen!? *sob*" And then, just as some innocent and soon-to-be very confused player walked into the range of my Local Chat... "I will MAUL you!!!!" I cannot remember whether this happened on SMP8 or not, but I'd say it's a safe guess.
