        Cool! Somewhere around here I have a couple genuine "Salty Sea Dog" certificates that I got from the Navy. You get one (or used to get one, anyway) after spending enough days at sea. I think it's 250 total days, but I could be wrong.

        I also have a "Bluenose" certificate for crossing the Arctic Circle, and several "Ditch" certificates for transiting the Suez. Sadly, I'm still a polliwog (one becomes a Shellback when they cross the equator).

        The Navy is steeped in stupid stuff like that.
